Tyrion's Epic Game Of Thrones Speech Gets A Perfect Alternate Ending

"Shonen Sunday" Reveals Slate of Anime OVAs

This year's issue 24 of manga magazine Shonen Sunday revealed that it has another slate of anime adaptations on the way. Not quite as impressive as the 2013 blitz that introduced Silver Spoon, Mushibugyo, Sasami-san@Ganbaranai, The Unlimited and the latest Hayate the Combat Butler and The World Only God Knows TV anime, this one is promising seven OVAs.

 

Showcased titles includes Mushibugyo, Magi Sinbad no Bouken, Hayate ecchi comedy Nozo x Kimi, survival horror Imawa no Kuni no Alice, sibling relationship story Ane Log: Moyako Nee-san no Tomaranai Monologue, soccer series Fantasista Stella.


Releases are planned over 10 consecutive months starting this month.

 


Sinbad is out with the manga's third volume on May 16th

 

Hayate is due with volume 41 on June 18th

 

Mushibugyo is due with volume 15 on July 18th

"Space Brothers" Inspired Real Escape Game Coming to San Francisco

Somehow, in the middle of all our news mongering, we forgot to mention the upcoming Real Escape Game Escape from the Moon Base inspired by the Space Brothers anime and manga. We make up for lost time with more info below...

 

Some of you may be wondering... What is the Real Escape Game? 


The Real Escape Game from Japan is a unique and interactive live puzzle event where teams solve mysteries and clues within a time limit. This game requires you to escape from a place filled with puzzles to stump you and your fellow players. The objective of the game is to find and solve the mystery in order to escape within the time allotted. Players are encouraged to work in teams to crack the puzzles more efficiently and the Game Master directs gameplay to add a touch of drama into the story. Read more about REG here! (For those of you living in New York, the Real Escape Game is also coming to NYC! !)

One hour left until you run out of air

"Emergency! Emergency! The base is severely damaged! Cause Unknown!”
Suddenly, the alert blares out through the base. You are trapped! There is only one hour of oxygen and seconds are already ticking away.
What caused the damage? Is there a way out? Solve the mysteries, escape from the Moon Base, and survive!

Game Play Information
* Team size is 6 people, but might be required to change depending on total participants at each game. There will be multiple teams in the same room and all players will join one of each team. This is different format from Real Escape ‘Room’. Please arrive early if you want to be placed on a team with your friends. In some cases, we might need to shuffle participants around to ensure team fairness. Single players are also welcome! We believe that this game can be even more enjoyable when you played with new people.

Manga Artist Arina Tanemura Sketches the Guys of "Sailor Moon"

Manga author Arina Tanemura (The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Full Moon wo Sagashite) has returned to her series of Sailor Moon sketches. This week she's drawing the series' heroic guys, specifically Tuxedo Mask and the Sailor Starlights (yeah, there are some manga versus anime technicalities there).

S.H. Figuarts.Sailor Uranus and Neptune Previewed

A number of Bandai's upcoming Sailor Moon figures made an early appearance at this weekend's Tamashi Nation Presents Summer Collection Akihabara event. The 14cm 20th Anniversary Sailor Moon S.H. Figuarts of Sailors Uranus and Neptune were displayed along side the 19cm FiguartsZero of Mars and Jupiter. 

 

Next figures in the lines are S.H. Figuarts  Sailor Saturn coming in August and FiguartsZero Venus, coming in October.

"Dramatical Murder" BL Visual Novel is Making the Leap to PS Vita

There's quite a bit going on for Dramatical Murder, the Nitro+chiral boys' love visual novel that originally launched on PC in Japan in 2012. A summer season anime was announced in March, and now a PS Vita adaptation is on the way.

 

A teaser site is now live for the "intracranial crash adventure," dubbed Dramatical Murder Re:code and set for a fall release in Japan. Nitroplus promises regular updates on the game, so hopefully we'll be seeing more of the adaptation soon.

"Chi's Sweet Home," "Fate/stay night" and "Future Diary" Manga Offered Digitally

Vertical has announced that Konami Kanata’s hit cat manga Chi's Sweet Home has launched on eBook formats, including Kindle, iTunes Bookstore and Nook. Google Play is coming soon. The publisher will be releasing two volumes a month until they catch up with the Japanese release, currently at 11.

 

 

Meanwhile, Viz announced they will kick off digital exclusive releases of rescue licenses Fate/stay night and Future Diary, priced at $4.99 a volume. 

 

These will be available at  VIZManga.com and the VIZ MANGA App for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, Android-powered smartphones and 7” tablets, as well as through Nook, Kindle, Kobo, iBooks and GooglePlay stores.

Bandai Visual to Release "∀Gundam" Blu-ray Box Sets in Japan

OK. But seriously a nice version of Turn A streaming on Gundam.info would be fine and feasible.

It is officially announced that Bandai Visual will release two Blu-ray disc sets of Sunrise's 1999-2000 TV anime∀ Gundam (Turn A Gundam) in Japan. The currently last Yoshiyuki Tomino-directed Gundam TV series was aired on Fuji TV for 50 episodes TV from April 9, 2009 to April 14, 2000, then two compilation films "∀ Gundam I: Earth Light" and "II: Moonlight" were released simultaneously in February 2002. The Blu-ray disc of the two films were already released in Japan in July 2011, and they are not included in this box sets.

 

The first set containing the first 25 episodes will be released on September 24, then the second set for the episode 26-50 will be on December 25. Both set comes with a 100-page booklet, newly-recorded audio commentary, and illustrated box by the original character designer Akira Yasuda. Amazon Japan has already begun accepting pre-orders for both sets at the price of 34,560 yen (about US$340).

Moyoco Anno to Appear at Toronto Comic Arts Festival

This isn’t really news, so much as a reminder, that manga artist Moyoco Anno, known for Sugar Run Rune and Happy Mania, will be a guest of honor at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival this upcoming weekend.


Moyoco Anno is attending TCAF in support of her debuting graphic novel, Insufficient Direction, an autobiographical manga based on her marriage to Evangelion creator and director Hideaki Anno, that you can read here on Crunchyroll Manga. Other Anno titles available to read now include Buffalo 5 Girls, and The Diary of Ochibi.

VIDEO: "Persona 4 Arena Ultimax" Trailer Introduces Junpei Iori

It's time for Atlus to introduce another new playable character for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Persona 3's Junpei Iori is the latest to be previewed, and you can see him in action in the trailer below. 

 

 

We previously saw trailers for newcomers Rise Kujikawa and Yukari Takeba, who join the action with others when the fighting game sequel hits PlayStation 3 in Japan on August 28. A North American release is set to follow on PS3 and Xbox 360 this summer.

VIDEO: Ufotable "Fate/stay night" Anime Preview

ufotable, the studio who adapted prequel Fate/zero, will be revisiting the families and Grail War a generation later in the Fate/stay night anime. A second preview for the anime, previously presented at AnimeJapan is now online. 

 

The anime is planned for fall with Takahiro Miura (director of the 6th Kara no Kyoukai: Garden of Sinners movie, storyboard artist on theFate/zero opening) directing. Character designers include Tomonori Sudo (KnK, Fate/Zero, Coyote Ragtime Show), Hisayuki Tabata (Yuyushiki), and Atsushi Ikariya (Fate/zero, Devil is a Part Timer). The cast from previous incarnations of the franchise is set to return.

"Serial Experiments Lain" Artist Yoshitoshi ABe Sketches Sailor Saturn

Serial Experiments Lain character designer Yoshitoshi ABe is being featured on a number of platforms this week. As the artist on the original novel, his work is being featured in bonus post cards for the Japanese release of All You Need is Kill/Edge of Forever. The eighth volume of the Ryushika Ryushika manga about an imaginative young girl was collected last week.
