Degradation of Phonons in Disordered Moiré Superlattices
Author(s): Héctor Ochoa and Rafael M. Fernandes
The elastic collective modes of a moiré superlattice arise not from vibrations of a rigid crystal but from the relative displacement between the constituent layers. Despite their similarity to acoustic phonons, these modes, called phasons, are not protected by any conservation law. Here, we show tha…

Self-assembly of polyoxometalate clusters into two-dimensional clusterphene structures featuring hexagonal pores
Nature Chemistry, Published online: 10 February 2022; doi:10.1038/s41557-022-00889-1
Polyoxometalate clusters have been assembled into two-dimensional ‘clusterphene’ layers that are held together by coordination to lanthanide ions and electrostatic interactions with quaternary ammonium cations. The resulting materials resemble graphene sheets on account of their uniform hexagonal pores and are shown to catalyse epoxidation reactions due to their in-plane electron delocalization.[ASAP] Vertical 1D/2D Heterojunction Architectures for Self-Powered Photodetection Application: GaN Nanorods Grown on Transition Metal Dichalcogenides

Cyclotron resonance overtones and near-field magnetoabsorption via terahertz Bernstein modes in graphene
Nature Physics, Published online: 07 February 2022; doi:10.1038/s41567-021-01494-8
Electrons in an external magnetic field absorb electromagnetic radiation via cyclotron resonance. Deviations from this behaviour in the form of overtone resonances due to ultraslow magnetoplasmonic excitations are now reported for graphene.Graphene moiré superlattices with giant quantum nonlinearity of chiral Bloch electrons
Nature Nanotechnology, Published online: 03 February 2022; doi:10.1038/s41565-021-01060-6
Graphene has a centrosymmetric crystal symmetry, which prohibits second-order effects in transport experiments. Yet, giant second-order nonlinear transports can emerge in graphene moiré superlattices at zero magnetic field, originating from the skew scattering of chiral Bloch electrons in the superlattice and giving rise to both longitudinal and transverse nonlinear conductivities under time-reversal symmetry.Irreversible synthesis of an ultrastrong two-dimensional polymeric material
Nature, Published online: 02 February 2022; doi:10.1038/s41586-021-04296-3
The solution-phase irreversible synthesis of a two-dimensional polymer with excellent elastic modulus and yield strength is reported.Reproducibility in the fabrication and physics of moiré materials
Nature, Published online: 02 February 2022; doi:10.1038/s41586-021-04173-z
The essential properties of moiré materials and the progress and latest developments in the field are reviewed, and their fabrication and physics are discussed from a reproducibility perspective.
