The Anime Version of Real-Life Anime Creators

by Brian Ashcraft
Dsider

I think this one has a few more than that graphic I saw on twitter last week

Shirobako is set in an anime studio, giving viewers an inside (and often, clever ) look at how anime is made. Many of the characters are inspired by folks working in animation.

So Xenoblade Chronicles X is coming to the Wii U. Good news for those looking forward to a sprawling RPG. Slightly less so if you remember the game’s 2013 trailer.

(Almost) All of CSI:Cyber's Cringeworthy Tech Buzzwords in One Video

by Kate Knibbs

CSI:Cyber is Gizmodo’s new favorite terrible tech-tinged procedural that may or may not be written by people who have never actually seen a computer. It’s great! This compilation of buzzwords from the fourth and fifth episodes of this season is a nonsense cacophony.

When Even A Job At Nintendo Isn't Enough

by Jason Schreier
Dsider

pretty unusual story

Sometimes you have to gamble. Sometimes you have to deny that you’re at a dead-end in life and push through. Sometimes you know you’re good at something and just want people to recognize it, and maybe pay you for it, too.

Nintendo's Online Team Shooter Won't Have Voice Chat, Because...Nintendo

by Patrick Klepek
Dsider

GOOD. There's still more bad than good with voice chat, and I hated being told to put on a headset when I played multiplayer in ME3. Just play the fucking game like you're supposed to and take cues from your teammates. IT'S NOT THAT FUCKING HARD, YOU DON'T NEED VOICE TO WIN.

We’ve known for a while that Splatoon, Nintendo’s take on a third-person shooter, wouldn’t have voice chat. But we know why they’ve left it out now, and I think it’s the wrong move.

by Stephen Totilo

WOO

What a difference a patch makes! Above is a comparison of a turn I just took in Nintendo’s new 3DS game Code Name STEAM: on the left, before the game was patched; on the right, using a post-patch fast-forward button.

Japan's Biggest Game Heads West, And Might Not Work

by Brian Ashcraft
Dsider

Yeah, beacuse of the drastic change in environment and characters I would prefer not to start with the 3rd game either. I guess we'll just have to wait for further announcments.

The Yokai Watch games are hugely popular in Japan. For good reason, they’re a lot of fun. The third numeric entry in the series was recently announced, and it’s got me thinking. And worried.

Smash Bros. Glitch Sets Kirby On Fire

by Yannick LeJacq

Kirby inhales so many things with reckless abandon that it was only a matter of time before one such thing came back to haunt him. And so Smash players discovered an exploit this week that turns him into an raging fireball. Fire Kirby doesn’t change much, gameplay-wise. But it’d make a hell of an anti-smoking ad.

New Japanese Airport Terminal Has a Running Track

by Brian Ashcraft

Why can't these just be everywhere. No really. I want justification so I can yell at people who block my way with their incompetence.

So travellers can run—or more realistically, walk briskly—between gates. This is just one of several clever design elements at Narita Airport’s new low-cost terminal.
