by Alissa Walker

Washington DC’s subway is scheduled to be shut down for an extended period of time to deal with a slew of deferred maintenance . But after today’s service problem—literal waterfalls in one station—maybe DC’s Metro needs a vacation sooner than that.

by George Dvorsky

Here we go again: A jaguar that was brought out during an Olympic torch event earlier this week was shot and killed shortly afterward when it escaped its handlers. The local Games organizing committee is now investigating the incident, but animal welfare advocates say the big cat should never have been there in the first place.

Koei Tecmo Will Keep Berserk Tame With CERO D Rating

by Sato
Dsider

There seems to be a lot of confusion over what any of that means exactly, but really if it means an M rating over here and not T, we should be fine. There is some stuff that obviously can be cut without affecting the game at all.

Koei Tecmo’s President Hisashi Koinuma talked about Omega Force’s upcoming Berserk title, where he shared info on the game’s ratings, series creator Kentaro Miura’s involvement, and more.

Yeah okay whatever, I won't believe it until I see it. And by "it," I mean the reviews.

Last Friday, io9 was among a group of journalists invited to the London set of Justice League. There director Zack Snyder, star/executive producer Ben Affleck, and everyone involved all had one, simple message for us: We know. And we’re trying.

Finally, A Batman Game With A Lot Of Bruce Wayne In It

by Stephen Totilo
Dsider

I just wish this could have been animated like BTAS for old times' sake.

“We believe Bruce Wayne is just as important as the Batman,” a Telltale rep said at E3 this week as he began playing through a demo of his company’s new Batman game. What followed was proof that Batman The Telltale Series may have more Bruce Wayne in it than any prior interactive Dark Knight adventure.

And the funny thing is, they still make these underhanded pitch jokes today

Or at least those of us who gathered every DNA sample in 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park video game. We scored a very special message from Mr. Goldblum, urging us to “call a member of the opposite sex” and “Get the stink off.”

Microsoft’s Phil Spencer: 'We Will Ship Games On Steam Again'

If you’re a PC gamer, the big news out of E3 this year was Microsoft’s decision to (finally) re-embrace PC as a gaming platform . If you buy their games on Xbox One, you’ll get them on PC as well (and vice versa). For big games, however, Microsoft’s been awfully Microsoft in recent times. Their store or bust.

Shigeru Miyamoto Says We May See A “New Kind Of Mario” In About A Year Or Two

by Sato

I've unfortunately begun to imagine a trailer to a Mario game in the vein of that Kojima trailer from E3 now.

We got to see Nintendo challenging conventions with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at this year’s E3 and the company is looking to do the same with Mario, which we’ll see in about a year or two.

Eight Of The Greatest WTF Moments Of E3 2016

by Matt Wales

E3’s press conferences are great for showcasing all those fancy-pantsy new games but, more importantly, they’re also an invaluable source of the most glorious corporate folly: a place to revel in poorly-conceived skits, mirthless misfires and moments of such inexplicable lunacy that its impossible to see how anyone ever thought they might be a good idea in the first place.

Capcom Says Certain Circumstances Preventing A Localization For The Great Ace Attorney

by Sato
Dsider

"Circumstances?" That's all you can fucking say? "CIRCUMSTANCES?"

I'm sick and tired of this fucking PR garbage, and the pointlessly tight-lipped nature of the industry over there. People are willing to address the problems if you would JUST FUCKING TELL US about them beforehand. But nope, they're happy to keep running their businesses as usual while wondering why Japanese games outside of Nintendo's (and even they're beginning to ruin that) continue to lose market share over here.

I'm not even pointing fingers at any specific area anymore, I'm just blaming the entire goddamn country at this point.

Longtime Ace Attorney series producer Motohide Eshiro talked about how Capcom would like to bring The Great Ace Attorney overseas, but a certain circumstance is preventing it from happening.
