We don’t know all the secrets of HBO’s hit series Westworld, but we do know the park inside the show is essentially just like a video game There are quests for the players to go on, NPCs to interact with (the robot “hosts”), the guests discuss various playstyles of interacting with the park, and even get “upgrades.” The people behind the scenes create the narrative, program the hosts, and control the environment, crafting the experiences for the players. There was no happy ending, no neat resolution, when Moe bullied Calvin out of his toy truck. But during that two week stretch of Calvin & Hobbes strips from 1989, cartoonist Bill Watterson made a dark but salient point about how unfair life can be. The update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf has added a range of new Nintendo themed Fortune Cookie prizes, including a Wii U. While game consoles have been present as items in Animal Crossing since the 2001 Gamecube release, the wording on the fortune that nets you a Wii U is pointed, to say the least.

Diablo II’s Necromancer is returning to Diablo III in Rise of the Necromancer, a new pack that will come out next year. There’s no word on price yet, but the pack will include the Necromancer as well as two character slots and some other cosmetic boosts.

Blizzard will release a remake of Diablo inside of Diablo III as part of an upcoming “20th anniversary” patch, the company said today. It’ll include a 16-level dungeon and the four main bosses from the first Diablo.
