Want To Flee America If Trump Gets Elected? A Dating Site Has You Covered

Want To Flee America If Trump Gets Elected? A Dating Site Has You Covered

If the unspeakable happens and Hair Trump becomes President come November 2016, scores of American's have threatened to flee the country out of a combination of fear, shame and disgust. But where will you go? How will you acclimate to a more favorable country if you happen to not know the customs or language?

Many countries seem more desirable and accepting than living under Hair Trump. For example, North Korea, Iran, Puerto Rico. Really, anywhere not being run by the Hair Trump.

But most people are focusing their attention on the home of maple syrup, hockey and Mounties. Yes, Canada. Oh, and to make Canada even more appealing - have you seen any photos of their new and extremely liberal Prime Minster, Justin Trudeau? Sign me up!

Well, help is here, American friends! A new dating site called www.maplematch.com has sprung up just in time to assist you in securing that new relationship just in time to flee if the apocalypse happens and Hair Trump gets elected.

It's slogan, ironically, is "Make dating great again" which sounds much more needed than Hair Trump's ridiculous "Make America Great Again" slogan, mainly because (a) America IS already great and (b) dating is decidedly ungreat.

Maplematch was founded this year and it's CEO Joe Goldman says it offers “opportunities for like-minded Canadians and Americans to build meaningful relationships and escape the unfathomable horror of [a] Trump presidency." Yes, Joe, it would be an utter horror.

Anime World Order Show # 146 - Live From Anime Fan Fest 2016

by animeworldorder@gmail.com (Anime World Order)
Darylsurat

Ugh, this is the second time I had to switch RSS editors and now every single episode ever is showing up as new in the feeds. I may just need to set aside time and fully automate the process once and for all

Daryl was a guest at Anime Fan Fest 2016, and used the opportunity to finally get some time with Charles Dunbar, Darius Washington, and Sean O'Mara. The topic was allegedly How to Stay Excited Over Anime After Decades but it was early in the morning and everyone just talked at one another about who knows what. Same as usual, minus the early in the morning part I suppose. Visit www.animeworldorder.com for full show notes and supplemental links.

Funny How That Particular Fox Typo Still Hasn't Been Corrected Everywhere

by Steve M.
Funny How That Particular Fox Typo Still Hasn't Been Corrected Everywhere

Here's the headline for a Fox Nation thread about the FBI's interview of Huma Abedin:

Notice something wrong with the headline? It doesn't refer to Abedin as Clinton's "Closest Aide." The word used is "Closet."

That's also true on the Fox Nation homepage:

The FN thread links back to an opinion piece at FoxNews.com, where the word in the headline is "closest" -- but the word in the article's URL is "closet" (the URL is http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016/05/07/gregg-jarrett-real-reason-fbi-interviewed-hillarys-closet-aide.html). I assume that means the headline originally contained the word "closet" as well.

On the Fox News Facebook page, which links to the FoxNews.com version of the article, the headline includes the word "Closet."

Hannity: 'When Has Trump Shown Hostility To Non-White Voters?'

by LeftOfCenter
Sean Hannity knows that his loyal viewers don't bother with frivolities like fact-checking. They take him at his word, even if his claims are quickly dispelled by a simple Google search. He claims that Trump has never been hostile to non-white voters. HANNITY: I don't think he's been hostile to -- when has he been hostile to non-white voters? Where's that? Yes. He actually uttered those words in that sequence. The examples of Trump's racist behavior scream back at you if you simply just invest a few second's time. For example, he has a tenuous relationship with, as he refers to them, 'The Blacks.' The Justice Department sued his company — twice — for not renting to black people, and he condoned the beating of a Black Lives Matter protester at one of his rallies. He launched a barrage of insults at Mexicans from the outset of his campaign, calling them rapists and drug dealers, although some might be 'good people.' He openly showed disdain and used Ted Cruz's Cuban heritage against him.

Like "Game of Thrones"? Watch These Anime!

by news+feed@crunchyroll.com
Darylsurat

Also if you don't like Game of Thrones

This article by Ian Martin originally appeared on:

With the new season of HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones well under way, many of us will be feeling the need to look for similar sources for our fantasy fix.

Of course we could just pick up a book -- the shelves of the world's few remaining bookshops still creak under the weight of countless breezeblock tomes chock full of dragons, kings and wandering warriors -- but for those looking to experience their journey into another world in all its full-spectrum audiovisual glory, let's have a look over what anime has to offer.

Given the way anime is affected less by the budget constraints that make fantasy such a nightmare to film in live-action, you'd think it would be a prime breeding ground for epic adventures and dramas in the Game of Thrones mould, but there are surprisingly few. Part of this is perhaps down to the publishing format of manga, on which so much anime is still based.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes

With its emphasis on pushing the narrative forward through short story arcs based around combat with a succession of foes, manga storylines rarely get the space to build up a complex web of plots and schemes like those in which George R R Martin appears to revel. It's telling that nearly all the series discussed here are based on novels rather than manga.

Perhaps the anime series that stands tallest against Martin's opus in terms of the complexity and intricacy of its plot comes not from fantasy but from science fiction. Legend of the Galactic Heroes and its various side stories adds up to 162 episodes of war, romance, plots and drama, the core of which is the struggle between imperial soldier Reinhard von Lohengramm and precocious strategist Yang Wen-li of the Free Planets.

Like Game of Thrones, it depicts the war not only through the eyes of the scheming aristocrats, generals and politicians at the top, but also through the lived experiences of the soldiers on the front line who have to live (or more often die) with the consequences of their decisions.

Berserk

At the other extreme, and firmly back in the fantasy camp is Berserk. Based on a manga by Kentaro Miura, Berserk takes some of its inspiration from the long running (130 volumes!) Guin Saga novel series by Kaoru Kurimoto. While Guin Saga itself was the subject of a 2009 anime adaptation, the 1997 Berserk anime remains a far superior animated example of the heroic fantasy genre for three main reasons. Firstly, Berserk's story and characterization allow for more shades and ambiguity, with characters growing and alliances shifting as the story progresses. It also boasts a marvellous soundtrack from composer Susumu Hirasawa, who would go on to score films like Millennium Actress and Paprika, and the series Paranoia Agent.

Guin Saga

Lastly, and this is where Game of Thrones fans can breathe a sigh of relief, it is one of the most bloodsoaked, gore-splattered, gleefully visceral anime series ever made for the small screen. Three volumes of a movie series were also released in 2012 and 2013, recapping the story's "Golden Age Arc."

Of course stories like Berserk and Guin Saga are also very macho, depicting the blood'n'guts world of fantasy as predominantly a conflict between men with rippling muscles, and while female warriors are permitted, they must be put firmly in their place. For fans of Game of Thrones' upright warrior Brienne of Tarth and aspiring assassin Arya Stark, there might be no better place to look than one of the finest animated fantasy sagas -- regarded by a great many fans as the best ever -- Stand Alone Complex director Kenji Kamiyama's masterful Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit.

Moribito places mature, capable spearwoman Balsa centre stage, with her primary romantic interest taking the relatively domestic form of herbalist Tanda and the series' main male role taken by young prince Chagum, with whom Balsa comes to take on a maternal relationship.

The action scenes are beautifully handled, but the real strength of the series is in the sensitive portrayal of Chagum's growing maturity over the course of the series and the excellent job the show does of depicting a rich, believable fantasy world, perhaps aided by original novelist Nahoko Uehashi's academic background as an ethnologist.

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit

Uehashi's interest in ethnology comes even more strongly to the fore in The Beast Player Erin, based on another series of novels by the same author. Aimed at a younger audience than MoribitoErin is rendered in simpler shapes and bolder colors but is even richer in the minute details of life in its fantasy world. Featuring terrifying beasts at the centre of its story, Erin takes the unique approach of focusing on the challenges of breeding and husbandry while political events of enormous significance gradually brew in the background.

Despite its younger audience, the series never talks down to the viewer, allowing its characters to make mistakes and experience the consequences of their actions in believable, often harsh ways. Throughout the fifty episodes, we see its titular heroine grow up from a bright, curious young child into a scarred yet wise and strong young woman, facing tragedy, treachery and adventure along the way. If you thought Daenerys Targaryen was having trouble raising her dragons, Erin has been there and then some.

Finally, and perhaps another series for Daenerys fans, no rundown of fantasy anime would be complete without mention of Twelve Kingdoms. Set in a Chinese-inspired land awash with demons and magic, the series jumps around a number of occasionally intersecting stories, but the core of the anime version centres around a Japanese girl called Yoko Nakajima, who finds herself swept into an alien land where she must first claim her throne as queen of the kingdom of Kei, and then learn how to rule.

Twelve Kingdoms

As with Game of Thrones, the pitfalls and perils of ruling form one of the core themes of the series, but another of its strengths is the unflinching way it approaches human weakness, selfishness and jealousy, setting these flaws prominently against other more sympathetic characteristics and using its much-abused heroines souls as the battleground.

13-Year Old With Fake Gun Shot In Baltimore

by Karoli Kuns
Darylsurat

As much as I object to unnecessary use of force by the police, I don't think I would fault anyone in the world for assuming "that person has a real gun and is refusing to drop it" based on the picture

13-Year Old With Fake Gun Shot In Baltimore

Fortunately, this child will live, and I do think the replica gun this kid had was just a little too close to the real thing for comfort. But from what witnesses say, the kid was running away from police telling him the gun was a toy.

CBS News:

When the officers identified themselves as police to the boy, he started to run, never dropping the firearm. After a brief chase on foot, one of the officers shot the 13-year-old. He is expected to survive his injuries.

The boy's mother told police she knew he left home with what she described as a BB gun.

The shooting comes days after it was announced that the city of Cleveland will pay $6 million to settle the lawsuit filed by the family of 12-year-old Tamir Rice, who was shot and killed by an officer in that city in 2014. Rice was playing with a pellet gun at the time.

Wednesday also marks one year since Freddie Gray's funeral was held in Baltimore and riots erupted in the city.

Can we all agree on a few things here? Like maybe kids should not be brandishing guns that look like the real deal on the streets? That there is a right and wrong way to react to them? That maybe if we ever get real about guns and the harm they do, we could actually make progress?

In the meantime, I'm glad this boy is going to survive.

John McCain Fundraiser Busted With Meth Lab In Her Home

by Scarce
This kind of story can't help much with McCain's re-election, can it. Source: AZCentral A woman listed as the RSVP contact for U.S. Sen. John McCain's re-election fundraisers was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of drug charges after Maricopa County sheriff's deputies found an active meth lab and other illicit drugs while conducting a search warrant at her north-central Phoenix home, officials said. The Sheriff's Office identified one of two people arrested in the drug bust as 34-year-old Emily Pitha, a former member of the staff of retired U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., who most recently worked on GOP campaign fundraising. McCain's campaign manager, Ryan O'Daniel, issued this response Tuesday night: "We commend the hard work and dedication of our law enforcement officers in their fight to keep our community safe from illegal drugs and associated criminal activity. The campaign immediately terminated any relationship with Ms. Pitha upon learning of her alleged involvement in the operation.”

Trump: Americans Will Thank Me When Lena Dunham Flees To Canada

by Scarce
Darylsurat

This...this is true though

Politico says it was in a tweet, but Dunham actually said it yesterday at an awards show. From Bustle: "I know everyone's always idly threatening this, but I'd be 100 percent moving to Canada," Dunham said enthusiastically. "I love Canada. I think that it's a great place, and there's an area in Vancouver that I find beautiful and appealing, and I can conduct business from there." Source: Politico During a telephone interview with "Fox & Friends," Trump was asked about a tweet from Lena Dunham on Monday in which she vowed to leave the U.S. for Vancouver if he is elected president. Trump's response: "Well, she's a B-actor. You know, she has no — you know, no mojo." "I heard Whoopi Goldberg too. That would be a great thing for our country," Trump said, as the show flashed a graphic of celebrities who it said would leave the U.S. for Canada, including Dunham, Jon Stewart, and Rosie O'Donnell, with whom the Manhattan real-estate mogul has feuded for years. When co-host Steve Doocy pointed out that O'Donnell's name on the list, Trump remarked, "Now I have to get elected."

AWWW HELLS YEAHHH ULTRAVIOLET CODE 044 THE LAST THING OSAMU DEZAKI DID BEFORE HE DIED...it's actually really hard to even get a good 2 minute clip out of

Sony's streaming platform Crackle has announced a slate of new initiatives that include 2017 stop-motion animated comedy SuperMansions, executive produced by and starring Bryan Cranston (Macross Plus, also something called Breaking Bad) as a middle-aged hero working with Millennials, and a series of new "multiplex channels," as part of their “Always On” platform.

The free, ad-supported network is broken into seven categories including Anime, Comedy, Action, Drama, Thriller, Sports and Fandom. These work like linear TV, where, once a channel is selected, shows will play, anchored by original content.

The platform currently has Osamu Dezaki's live-action spin-off Ultraviolet: Code 044, and Shinji Aramaki's Viper's Creed as exclusives. In the past, they've been the only place in America to catch other anime, such as Nodame Cantabile.

VIDEO: Donald Trump Praises The Heroes Of 7-Eleven

by Scarce

He will win his home state of New York in a sweep anyway

Embarrassing, even for Trump. But he seems incapable of acknowledging embarrassment for anything he says.

Source: NY Post

Donald Trump tried to praise the heroes of 9/11 at a Buffalo rally Monday — but botched the compliment by saying cops and firefighters responded on “7-Eleven.”

After an impassioned introduction by former New York Jets coach — and current Buffalo Bills coach — Rex Ryan, the GOP front-runner fumbled his remarks while launching into a defense of New York values.

“It’s very close to my heart,” Trump told the huge rally.

“I watched our police and our firemen down on 7-Eleven, down at the World Trade Center, right after it came down, and I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action.”

The crowd seemed to let Trump slide on his convenience-store reference, but it wasn’t the only gaffe.

He later praised Ryan for winning AFC championships while with the Jets — who won no such titles during his tenure.

Donald Trump Asks Pittsburgh Audience: 'How's Joe Paterno?'

by John Amato

Donald Trump made another huge gaffe when he was addressing a Pittsburgh rally by suddenly bringing up the name of the former legendary college football coach, who left disgraced after the Sandusky story of sexual abusing children came to light.

It left Penn State's reputation in tatters which was followed by a campus riot with police.

To say that Paterno is a controversial figure is putting it lightly. So what was Donald Trump thinking when he asked his audience this:

"I know a lot about Pennsylvania, and it’s great. How’s Joe Paterno? We gonna bring that back? Right?" "How about that whole deal?"

Say, what? The whole deal was a nightmare and Paterno died in 2012.

And only a fool would believe Trump was talking about the statue.

Paterno died in 2012 shortly after retiring in the wake of a child sex abuse scandal that rocked Penn State. The university later removed a statue of Paterno, who many believed did not do enough to prevent children from being molested by another member of the coaching staff.

Morning Joe Panel: Hillary Clinton "Clearly Did Not Say Bernie Sanders Was Not Qualified To Be President"

Darylsurat

So how this is an example of conservative misinformation? Are they saying that Morning Joe is lying? No, they are posting this in support of the fact that MMFA is owned by the person who runs Clinton's Super-PAC.

I like the site, but c'mon.

From the April 7 edition of MSNBC's Morning Joe:

MIKA BRZEZINSKI (CO-HOST): Late last night, Clinton's press secretary Brian Fallon responded to [Sanders'] remarks on Twitter saying quote "Hillary Clinton did not say Bernie Sanders was 'not qualified.' But he has now - absurdly - said it about her. This is a new low." He added "Bernie Sanders, take back your words about Hillary Clinton." Sanders did no such thing. His campaign released a statement that began quote "Responding to Hillary Clinton's attempt to portray him as unqualified for the White House, Senator Sanders linked her to a trade pact exploited by wealthy individuals and profitable corporations to avoid paying taxes." And then went on to spell out the rest of Senator Sanders, the senator's quotes from Philadelphia. That statement linked readers to a Washington Post article with the headline "Clinton questions whether Sanders is qualified to be president," which cited Secretary Clinton's remarks on Morning Joe. Both candidates have news conferences scheduled for 9:00 this morning right after Morning Joe. I feel like I'm in trouble. And Bernie Sanders will join us on set in New York tomorrow morning.

JOE SCARBOROUGH (CO-HOST): OK so Mike Barnicle, you were there with us. I tried to get Hillary Clinton four times -- three or four times to say that Bernie Sanders was unqualified to be president of the United States and just like my interview with Rick Santorum, you know, I start asking a question, I keep going until I get an answer or give up. And after three or four attempts with Secretary Clinton I gave up because she was not going to say the words "He is unqualified to be president of the United States." Was that your takeaway from the interview as well or am I missing something?

MIKE BARNICLE: No, she clearly did not say that Bernie Sanders was not qualified to be president and under Senator Sanders' logic in his comeback, is John Kerry qualified to be secretary of state? Because he, too, voted for many of the things that Hillary Clinton has cited in Senator Sanders' indictment. This is going to be a 12-day tension convention here in New York state between Senator Sanders and Secretary Clinton.

Florida Woman Rips Rick Scott At Gainesville Starbucks And It's Glorious

by Sarah P

Talk about being in the right place at the right time! One Florida woman got the chance few of us do - to scream at a politician who did us wrong... in a public place... on camera!

Florida Politics reports that during a java break at a Gainesville Starbucks, Gov. Rick Scott had the misfortune of ordering the most complicated coffee possible and while waiting for his steaming hot cup of joe, managed to be seated near an angry woman who laid into him about his refusal to expand Medicaid to low-income Floridians.

Thankfully, someone grabbed their handy cell phone and recorded the video so we can all watch this woman, a hero for low income citizens, tell Rick Scott what we all think:

“You cut Medicaid so I couldn’t get Obamacare. You’re an asshole. You don’t care about working people. You should be ashamed to show your face around here.”

Scott responded with the typical "job creator" lie and said that he made "1 million jobs".

Hero lady's response was priceless?

“A million jobs? Great, who here has a great job? I was looking forward to finishing school. You really feel you have a job coming up? Shame on you Rick Scott. We depend on those services. Rich people like you don’t know what to do....you are an embarrassment to our state”

From George Wallace To Donald Trump: How We Got Here

by Claire Conner

Who is Donald Trump?

Pundits have been trying to answer this question since the loud-mouthed billionaire burst into the GOP primary. In no time, Trump took up the anti-immigration banner, promising to rid us of those murdering, raping Mexicans who were pouring over our border and wrecking our country. Trump declared that he will build a tall, impenetrable, beautiful wall to seal our border. He’s boasted that he would force Mexico to pay for that wall.

Trump has promised to dish out more than $10 trillion in tax cuts, rebuild the military, and rewrite all of our trade deals. He’s going to wring a lot more money from our allies who not been paying enough for our protection. That’s in the first 100 days.

After that, the great and powerful Trump will utterly defeat ISIS, ban Muslims from entering our country, and patrol Muslim neighborhoods to keep tabs on potential terrorists. Trump will pay off the national debt in 8 years, redo our international treaties, and pull us back from NATO. If that isn’t enough, he’ll make abortion illegal by appointing right-wing judges.

People Love Trump and That’s Enough

In the world of Donald Trump, these actions will “Make America Great Again.”

Trump’s fans could care less about the real impact (even on them) of Trump’s proposals. They don’t read fact checkers or economists who warn that Trump’s ideas would spark a global recession, cost millions of American jobs, and embolden terrorists.

Eiichiro Oda Reveals The Secret Of The "One Piece" Way Of Drawing The Female Form

by news+feed@crunchyroll.com
Darylsurat

*wordlessly raises arm with X armband*

Friendship, effort and victory might be the three pillars of Shonen Jump, but a healthy dose of juvenile naughtiness has also always been a key element of the boys' magazine success. That's on full display in SBS (Shitsumon o Boshū Suru "I'm Taking Questions") from author Eiichiro Oda in One Piece's collected editions.

If you ever want to criticize One Piece's handling of female characters, SBS is a stockpile of ammunition.

From volume 78:

Reader: Why is it that there is an abnormally extensive number of characters in One Piece who have unknown or already deceased mothers? P.N. Navy Blue

Oda: I see. Well. The answer is simple.

That's because "Mother" is the antonym for "Adventure".

*Please don't write that on a test

And likewise from volume 78:

Reader : We realized that Robin has huge breasts.

We checked from the side, and Nami also has huge breasts.

Why do they both have such huge breasts?

And could it be Oda-san's preference?

That was a question from us two 10-year-olds. P.N. Sakucchan & Yuzu-chan

Oda: I keep saying this, but I'm just bringing the young boys' dreams to life! All of humanity on earth! I command your breasts to grow~!

Getting some attention recently, Oda really put the shonen in Jump with his response in volume 79 concerning how to draw women.

Reader: About the "Nico" in "Nico Robin", could it possibly be that it's a reference to the NICe O's (so, breasts) she has? by Hiromu (*It's a pun with the japanese "ni ko", which means two breasts.)

Oda: No.

Reader: Nice to meet you. This is sudden, but... please teach us a tip or two on how to draw that hawt hourglass body all ONE PIECE female characters seem to have! Make sure you don't forget to include them airbags ♡

P.N. If there's no bread, let them eat roses~

Oda: Yes. Hello. It's drawing time at the SBS segment. I would suggest that you think of a woman's proportions as "three circles, one X". Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be leaving.

(I only draw this kind of body, so I get a lot of complaint postcards from my female audience. Let's all stay strong and keep on living life.)

For a bonus a bit less fraught on gender politics, volume 80 offered a look at the Donquixote Family as kids

Trump Youth Plaster Slurs, Swastika And 'Trump' On College Chapel Walls

Trump Youth Plaster Slurs, Swastika And 'Trump' On College Chapel Walls

I'm sure these Northwestern University students were just misguided when they (allegedly) painted swastikas, racial slurs, and the word Trump on the walls of a chapel, right?

Sure they were.

Two Northwestern University freshmen allegedly vandalized a campus chapel by spray-painting slurs, penises, a swastika — and to top it off, the word “Trump.

...

[Anthony] Morales and [Matthew] Kafker allegedly entered the nondenominational Alice Millar Chapel on the school’s Evanston campus around 12:45 a.m. Friday.

According to police, the freshmen blemished one hallway with a slur for African-Americans and a swastika. In another part of the chapel, they wrote a slur for homosexuals and spray-painted lines over photos of Muslim students. They drew penises on an organ and over the word “God” in a hallway.

Nice work there, guys. No free college for YOU.

Now they're facing some big-time charges, including institutional vandalism, a hate crime involving a place of worship, and criminal damage to property. They're cooling their heels in jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

Maybe The Donald will bail them out.

Gun Rights 'Activist' Accidentally Shot By Her 4 Year Old

Florida

Gun Rights 'Activist' Accidentally Shot By Her 4 Year Old

The above, along with a lot of other stupid pro-gun memes, are all over Jamie Gilt's facebook page.

So much for being in control of your gun. Jamie Gilt left her "toy" next to her four year old in the back seat of her car.

Let me repeat that.

Yesterday, Jamie Gilt's four-year-old had access to her gun in the backseat of her car, while she was driving, and shot her.

She's in stable condition.

First of all, gratitude that no one was killed. She could have died, lost control of her car and killed an oncoming driver, it could have been her child shooting himself. So many horrible outcomes.

And yes, the irony of a gun rights gal getting shot by her child? I hope the public shame wakes her up.
