Andrew DeGraff’s “Movie Maps.”

Tracing the paths of characters from some of the most famous films of all time, Andrew DeGraff painstakingly paints each of their travels into detailed maps featuring iconic locations from each film.  Truly a wonder to look at again and again.

Andrew has a book coming out “Plotted: A Literary Atlas” that maps out some of history’s most famous works of the written word.  You can pre-order it on Amazon (This isn’t a sponsored post by the way, I’m buying one myself).

Micaela Lattanzio’s “SandCloud.”

Micaela Lattanzio’s latest installation work is entitled “SandCloud.”  With this work of art Micaela seeked to deconstruct the sky via hundreds of hand cut hexagons placed on sticks in a bed of sand.  These hexagons, viewed together, begin to form a wave or a wisp of wind and through this reassembly of such images in our mind Micaela hopes for us to have a great appreciation for that which is always above us.

SandCloud” is currently on display at Spazio Y in Rome, Italy until the 2nd of August, 2015.

Guy Laramée’s Bird Portrait, Hand Carved Book Landscapes.

Art Guy Laramée has created a spectacular series of work using old Brazilian tomes to paint portraits of Brazilian birds on their covers and on the back of these books, carving out the pages to resemble their natural habitat’s landscape.  Each of the new nine sculptures feature a different bird that is from the region of Brazil known as Serra do Corvo Branco, “Range of the White Raven.”

Check out more of the epic work below!

The Gifs That Keep On Giffing

by Philippa Warr

Every now and again I go to browse the ‘Gifs of games being worked on‘ thread in the TIGSource forums (The Independent Gaming Source community forum). I probably shouldn’t admit this but I’m not really there to scout out games. Sure, something cool might stand out and I’ll investigate further but the real pleasure is the pretty or interesting or characterful gifs. Perhaps I’ll find something broken but gorgeous or finished but puzzling. It’s about finding game actions which work as a repeating loop. I thought I’d gather some of my recent favourites here and share them with RPS readers. Please take this as an invitation to share back or pick your own favourites from what’s below.

I’ll try to include information where I can and a link back to the source in case you want to follow up the discussion or feedback.

Mehdi Ghadyanloo, “Perception.”

Currently showing at Howard Griffin Gallery in London until April 2nd, 2015 is Mehdi Ghadyanloo’s solo show “Perception.”  The Iranian artist, who is also a street artist, explores the every day life of Iranians and what it’s like to be viewed through a lens of War.  The metaphorical works seek to define the suspension and disconnect from the world that this causes and invite the viewer in through a cooler palette of colors to see things from another angle.
