Online Countdown Clock Lets You Know How Long It’s Been Since Trump Threatened a Lawsuit

by Eve Peyser

ha. Love this.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump has a penchant for lawsuits, much like another Republican convention speaker. Today Trump gave a speech in Gettysburg, where he vowed to sue the many, many women who have accused him of sexual abuse. The Republican nominee said he is fighting “the power structure,” and that his administration would not approve of AT&T trying to buy Time Warner “and thus, CNN.”

Open Post: Hosted By The “Power Rangers” Trailer

by J Harvey

screen-shot-2016-10-09-at-1-53-05-pm

They didn’t even include “Mighty Morphin’“! This is respect-free! The trailer for Power Rangers has dropped, and my condolences if your childhood was killed in the blast. Everything’s very serious now and someone cloned Zac Efron. Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston must both want a bigger summer mansion in St. Barts next year, so they’re involved. That’s Elizabeth murdering the classic Rita Repulsa character and wearing her skin to menace CW fodder at 1:52.

As we’ve discovered in this year’s presidential election, nothing is sacred.

Former Fox News Anchor Jim Walker Opens Up About New Career as Gay Adult Film Star

by Michael Fitzgerald
Daniel Whitehill

Wow. That is one hell of a mid-life crisis job change!

jwalker_small2

Former news anchor Jim Walker has opened up about his burgeoning career in the adult film industry as Dallas Steele.

44-year-old Walker, a former anchor for FOX, NBC and CBS, made the move into the adult entertainment industry 19 months ago after the death of his partner and being told by his network that he was “unlikable.”

C&C reports that Walker is happy to have moved away from his previous career because the stress of ratings was eating away at his health.

Walker has faced some criticism from commentators who have attacked his “mid-life crisis” career move but says he feels sorry for his detractors because “they’ve obviously decided at some point that there are limitations about who you can be and what you can do once you hit 40”.

Walker added that he is “much more successful in every measure” now and is “sorry if the haters have decided that gays over forty are supposed to put on the board shorts, move to the suburbs and settle down to bridge parties once per week.”

Watch Walker in his previous line of work, below.

And some more snaps of him, below.

Lady Gaga Releases New Track ‘Million Reasons’ from Upcoming Album ‘Joanne’ – LISTEN

by Andy Towle
Daniel Whitehill

Huh. Just as I'd written her off, she does a pop song that would make the Indigo Girls happy. Nice.

Lady Gaga released a new track from her forthcoming album Joanne last night. The track, which you can listen to above,  was produced by Gaga and Mark Ronson, BloodPop and Nashville songwriter Hillary Lindsey, who also backs Gaga.

The album is out October 21st.

Gaga talked with Ryan Seacrest about the album’s title. It’s named after her aunt who died at 19 of Lupus.

“My dad lost her very quickly and it changed his life so dramatically. It wiped him out. Like, I don’t even know if I know my real dad. And that’s what this record was about. Do I even know my real father? Because my father was traumatized and I didn’t know him then. I’m just not sure if all the drinks I’ve seen him have and all the drinks he’s seen me have — I’m just not sure if after all these years that anybody has healed from this. It’s just that we’re all in a state of aftermath that we don’t even realize.”

She said the album was more about the spirit of her aunt than anything.

“Joanne, for me was about writing an album that is about something much bigger than myself. It’s about my connection to my family, my connection to my friends, my self-awareness of who I am in this world and what I wish to be. I went into the studio and I erased my fame to write, and I said, ‘I’m going to become Joanne. I’m going to take on the sentiment of a woman that didn’t live the rest of her life.’”

Though the album reportedly varies in genre, going from country to rock to pop, at its heart is a pop record, she said:

“My aim is to always be different and to push things further. Not necessarily forward or backwards, but just push them in a new direction and it always has a positive message behind it.”

Gaga posted a sheet of the lyrics to Instagram:

Playstation VR Review: This Is the VR System You Actually Want

by Alex Cranz
Daniel Whitehill

Huh. Surprisingly the reviews have been kind.

I was slotting my grappling gun back into place on my belt when it became clear to me that Playstation VR isn’t just really good VR. Playstation VR is the first virtual reality any regular person should bother with. More than the fantastic gaming experience you get with Sony’s new system, I was floored by how easy it was for me to go from watching a TV show to popping on the headset and turning on Batman Arkham: VR. Playstation VR is VR for people who don’t care about having the best system in the world—they just want to have a good damn experience. It’s actually fun, which despite the lofty ideas spouted by technologists is what playing games is all about.

Ian McKellan Turned Down $1.5 Million When He Was Offered to Do This As Gandalf

Daniel Whitehill

Fuck. I'd do it!

Billionaire Sean Parker had a lavish, Lord of the Rings-themed wedding back in 2013. Now, it's come to light that the Napster founder and Facebook's first president offered to pay actor Ian McKellan $1.5 million to dress up as Gandalf and officiate the wedding. McKellan said no.

"I was offered one-and-a-half million dollars to marry a very famous couple in California, which I would perhaps have considered doing but I had to go dressed as Gandalf," McKellan told the Daily Daily Mail (via AV Club). "So I said, 'I am sorry, Gandalf doesn't do weddings.'"

The offer was reportedly made by an intermediary, not Parker himself.

Parker spent an estimated $4.5 million on his wedding to singer-songwriter Alexandra Lenas in the woods of Big Sur, California. He even hired Lord of the Rings costume designer Ngila Dickson to make Middle-earth outfits for all 364 guests, including Metallica's Lars Ulrich and Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, to wear for the event.

Go to Vanity Fair to see a gallery of images from the wedding.

In other news about The Lord of the Rings, Warner Bros. has announced a 30-disc package that comes with all the Lord of the Rings and Hobbits movies and a lot of bonuses and extras. It costs $720 and goes on sale in October.

A Princess Becomes a Queen in New Trailer for Netflix’s Sweeping Costume Drama ‘The Crown’ – WATCH

by Sean Mandell
Daniel Whitehill

Looks nice... but has Ryan Meredith written ALL over it.

Netflix has just released a new trailer for its sprawling costume drama, The Crown, about a young Queen Elizabeth II struggling to forge her own path as queen of the most famous monarchy in the world.

The series is reportedly Netflix’s most expensive to date, costing an estimated $156 million.

The Crown is helmed by showrunner Peter Morgan who is no stranger to royal territory, having written the Academy Award-winning film The Queen and also the well-received play, The Audience, both of which starred Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II.

This look at Elizabeth’s life casts Clare Foy as Elizabeth, Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith as Prince Phillip, and John Lithgow as Winston Churchill.

screen-shot-2016-09-27-at-8-38-32-am

Director Stephen Daldry (The Hours, Billy Elliot) directs the series which becomes available for binging on November 4.

The royal family is reportedly ‘very aware’ and also ‘nervous’ about the series.

The Telegraph reports:

Speaking at a press conference arranged by the Television Critics Association, The Crown’s showrunner Peter Morgan claimed that the Royal family are “very, very aware” of the series, and that Netflix have been angling to hear the Queen’s opinion on it.

“I think Netflix are working on getting her to give an endorsement,” claims the Oscar-nominated writer, whose credits include Frost/Nixon and the 2006 film The Queen. “Through untraceable back channels, countless approaches have been made.”

He added that he believed the Royal family were both “very nervous and very excited,” about the series. “I think they don’t like not having control, but they also understand that [a drama] dealing with this subject with respect is a rare thing.”

“These are people who are not used to being taken seriously,” Morgan said, still referring to the Royal family.

GTA 5's Biker DLC Arrives October 4, New Screenshots Released

Daniel Whitehill

Looks like it's time for K.Gibs to mount up again!

Rockstar has announced the next content update for GTA 5's online mode will be available on October 4. The Bikers update will introduce "underground motorcycle clubs to the forefront of the Los Santos and Blaine County criminal underworld."

New competitive and cooperative gameplay modes will also be included, along with a fresh batch of vehicles, weapons, and clothing. One of the new bikes Rockstar has shown off is the Western Rat Bike, which you can see in the gallery below.

3135128-image001.jpgGallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3

As previously detailed, players can join up with up to eight other people to form a club, and there will be different roles such as prospects and presidents. Prospects will need to earn the president's respect in order to get promoted within the ranks.

Using the MC Clubhouse properties, bikers will be able to interact with a special biker mechanic, but as of yet it's unclear what new functions this character will provide.

References to a biker-focused update were found in July, when a player happened upon hidden code in the Cunning Stunts update.

Grand Theft Auto V developer Rockstar has said single-player DLC for the game is still under consideration.

The ‘Will & Grace’ Cast Have Reunited to Take on the Presidential Election: WATCH

by Andy Towle
Daniel Whitehill

Why was Grace wearing a moomoo?

Will Grace reunion

Need to ease some pre-debate jitters? The Will & Grace cast have reunited ten years after the show’s finale for a new scene about the presidential election.

Will and Grace are understandably mortified that Trump is the Republican nominee for president, Karen Walker just spent the weekend with Donald and Melania at Mar a Lago, and Jack is an “unemployed, uneducated angry white man” who is registered to vote in Pennsylvania, and convinced to vote for the right candidate in the end.

And Rosario, as usual, has the last laugh.

Also dished in the new scene: 50 Shades of Gray, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Rachel Maddow and a miniature horse named Ann Coulter, The Ryan Lochte Dancing with the Stars attack, Hamilton, President Obama and more…

Hillary Clinton Grilled by Zach Galifianakis for Between Two Ferns: WATCH

by Andy Towle

I was amused this time.

between two ferns hillary

Hillary Clinton sat down with Zach Galifianakis for a new episode of his hilarious talk show Between Two Ferns, which she reportedly taped on the day she was diagnosed with pneumonia.

pneumonia_clinton

“I really regret doing this,” Clinton says at one point.

Clinton is gloriously deadpan as she receives Galifianakis’ probing, “really out of date” questions throughout the interview.

“Are you excited to be the first girl president?…Not to take away from the historic significance of you perhaps becoming the first female president, but for a younger, younger generation, you will also become their first white president, and that’s pretty neat too.”

“What happens if you become pregnant? Are we gonna be stuck with Tim Kaine for 9 months?”

“When you see how well it works for Donald Trump, do you ever think to yourself, maybe I should be more racist?”

“Have you thought about what you’re going to be wearing at the debates?

Also, Trump’s white power tie, his bowels, and his steaks, which according to Galifianakis, are “a good cut of meat.”

“I think it’s part of the asshole.”

Biopic Based on the Life of Gay Erotic Artist ‘Tom of Finland’ Gets First Teaser – WATCH

by Sean Mandell
Daniel Whitehill

Very curious!

tom_of

The first teaser trailer for a new biopic based on the life of Tom of Finland has just been released.

Directed by Dome Karukoski, the film follows Touko Laaksonen, a decorated officer, as he returns home to Finland after fighting for his country in World War II. But life during peacetime proves just as distressing as his time on the battlefields in Europe. Laaksonen finds Helsinki rampant with persecution of homosexuals and sees many men around him pressured to marry women and have children. Touko finds refuge in his art, specializing in homoerotic drawings of muscular men, free of inhibitions. His work – made famous by his signature ‘Tom of Finland’ – “became the emblem of a generation of men and fanned the flames of a gay revolution,” as the film’s producers describe it.

screen-shot-2016-09-16-at-9-49-49-am

According to film blog Dark Horizons, Tom of Finland is still being edited but will be released in February.

Feast Your Eyes on The Full Trailer for Russell Tovey’s Gay Footballer Movie ‘The Pass’

by Andy Towle
Daniel Whitehill

looks fun

thepass_tovey

Russell Tovey plays a gay footballer in the new film The Pass, costarring with Arinze Kene. The film takes on the story of a closeted player in three segments, one taking place every five years in the player’s life, as he grows from a teenager to an athlete  in the Champions League.

Now the trailer for the film, which has been making its way around film festivals, is here.

You may recall that Tovey starred in the play from which the film was adapted at London’s Royal Court Theatre in 2014. Check out some sexy photos from the play HERE.

2_tovey

In March, Tovey spoke with the UK’s Evening Standard about his hopes that a real-life footballer will have the courage to come out soon.

RELATED: Russell Tovey’s Closeted Gay Footballer and ‘Pass’ Co-Star Gary Carr Do Some Male Bonding: PHOTOS

Said Tovey:

“I hope it happens within the next few years, it just takes one person to be brave enough to do it. Apparently there is a big sponsorship deal for the first big Premier League player to come out, a multi-million pound deal, but no one has picked it up yet…They are going to be elevated to some level beyond what they are doing in sport and if you are the first person to do that then it is a terrifying prospect because of the attention that is going to get. Football crowds are so tribal, it’s gladiatorial, and they seize on any weakness their opponents show and sadly in football being gay is still seen as a weakness.”
