The Nature Speaker is a simple perch shaped like a loudspeaker of sorts. It not only offers a safe haven for the little birds but also amplifies their chirps for you to enjoy. Not to be a hater, but my number one concern with the "Saddle Lock" concept by Lee Sang Hwa, Kim Jin Ho and Yeo Min Gu is that it's a design for not only the seatpost and saddle but the frame itself. The fact that the hinge is incorporated into the seatpost cluster means that the locking mechanism is part and parcel with the frame itself, seatstays be damned. That said, the Red Dot Design Award-winning concept illustrates a commendable bit of lateral thinking, so to speak, in integrating a locking into the seatpost, which flips between the standard upright position and a lowered, secure configuration.

In complex cities, the number of people using bicycles to travel short distances is increasing. Following the trend, bicycle design has been evolving rapidly. On the contrary, the evolution of the bicycle lock has been slow. When they make a quick stop—such as at a coffee counter or a convenience store—people still look for something to lock their bicycle to. Even though they are only stopping for a few minutes, they must perform quite a number of actions to lock their bike.

Saddle Lock provides a way to quickly lock the rear wheel without the need for additional locking accessories. The seat post swings down around the main frame when a button is pushed. The saddle features a cut-away shape that allows it to sit over the rear wheel. A combination lock allows the release of a special alloy rotating lock that extends from one end of the saddle to the other, securing its connection to the wheel.

Stateside cyclists will be quick to note that locking the rear wheel is hardly sufficient for the mean streets of NYC or SF, but that's not the point: The Saddle Lock is a variation on the built-in handcuff-style wheel lock that is commonly seen on imported cruisers and e-bikes, a simple solution for less-larcenous locales.

Today we want to show you stunning sculptures by Jonty Hurwitz. they are created with such mathematical precision, that can only be seen in a reflection. We ran across this interesting art installation by Cologne-based artist Heike Weber for a cafe in Prague. Believe it or not, the floors of the venue were given their current bold look by using a permanent marker. The cafe is entitled ‘Bodenlos’, which literally means ‘loosing the ground under your feet’, hence the choice for the wavy patterns. We don’t know about you guys, but to us, this project looks amazing and we can’t help but feel overwhelmed at the amount of work invested in it.

Discovered on dsgn Wrld, the project of Heike Weber adds color and further dimensions to the space. If you look closely, you will notice how the lines on the floor create undulating surfaces, which can mesmerize and hold your attention for a long time. The artist has an impressive portfolio, which consists of various marker installations in unexpected places. Find her work compatible with modern interior design?

If you are not one of Britney Spears' nearly 24 million followers, I felt it my duty to inform you that Britney brought us a "fashion funny" on twitter today at the expense of Russell Crowe, or rather the character he plays in Les Miserables. Seems Crowe's hat closely resembles one worn by the pop princess in an old music video. You have to love Britney and Russell, or whoever is manning their twitter accounts, for reposting such a brilliant detail. Crowe does in fact look like he could be "Toxic". Well played, twitter kids. This will definitely get your twitter following up. It's not a naked Bieber butt but it's a step in the right direction for an educated following.
