5 Grocery Store Labels You Can Take With A Grain of Salt — The Kitchn

by Apartment Therapy
Lindsaycdavison

Whole Grains - make the sure the "whole grain" is on the ingredient list
Cage- free -better to look for the word pasture
artisanal - total marketing
all natural - loosely defined as exclusion of added colors, artificial flavors, and synthetic substances...which isn't really all natural.
Angus - he confusing news is that some beef brands skip the certification and just live on the recognizability of the breed’s name. The better news is that to carry Certified Angus Beef, retailers (and restaurants) must be licensed

Nashville Will Most Likely Be Picked Up By CMT For A Fifth Season!

by Perez Hilton
Lindsaycdavison

this makes sense

Don't throw away your cowboy boots just yet!

As we reported in May, ABC made a surprise move and cancelled Nashville after four seasons. Not surprisingly, fans were pissed and vented their frustrations on social media!

Well it looks like the TV gods are answering our prayers because the country music drama will most likely be picked up for a fifth season!

Related: THIS Nashville Star Just Got Engaged!

According to sources, CMT is looking to renew the hit show, and if negotiations are in place in time, they will announce the news tomorrow at the CMT Music Awards!

The hour-long starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere may also air on Hulu, which would be a good move considering the streaming service already carries the previous seasons!

After the show was cancelled, producer Lionsgate TV was vigilant in pitching the show to other networks. It appears they were so confident it was going to be picked up that they chose a cliffhanger ending for season 4, mapped out a season 5, and even funded a writers room with new showrunners Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick at the helm.

Although nothing is set in stone, things are looking good y'all!

Yeehaw!

Here's one expert's pick. At $59 per glass, the Zalto Denk'Art Universal Glass isn't cheap, but, says Wilson, "It gets the job done for me every time." Suitable for white, red, and bubbles, it's also the glass of choice for another Master Sommelier, Aldo Sohm, who heads up the wine program at Le Bernardin and also has his own eponymous wine bar.

College Sweethearts Share a Charming Texas Home — House Call

by Adrienne Breaux
Lindsaycdavison

not sharing for the house - is college sweethearts a thing? i mean...didn't a lot of us meet our sig other in college? i feel like high school sweethearts makes sense bc it's not as common.

Name: Ashley Flotte
Location: Plano, Texas

I live with my college-sweetheart husband and our two sassy babies (ages three and one) in our two-story Plano, Texas home, built in 1992 in a traditional style with red brick, black shutters, and a charming front porch packed with rocking chairs. Our first viewing of it when we were house-hunting three years ago was at dusk, complete with glowy romantic light streaming through all the windows. The house felt straight out of a movie, and every scratched floorboard and 90s-liscious gold bathroom fixture whispered "home." We fought valiantly for it in a bidding war. (And lost. A couple of times.) But the stars finally aligned, and the rest, as they say, is suburban history.

The Sweet Strange History of Cat Funerals — Mimi Matthews

by Nancy Mitchell

Funerals, of course, are not a happy occasion, but they serve an important purpose: they give the bereaved a chance to celebrate the dead person's life, to mourn together, and hopefully, to begin the healing process. When a pet dies things are a bit murkier. For a human death there's an accepted script to follow: for a dog or cat, no so much. But anyone looking for a fitting way to mourn Fido or Fluffy might be heartened to hear that cat (and dog!) funerals actually have quite a lengthy history.

The Kitchen: The Final Frontier for Plants

by Nancy Mitchell
Lindsaycdavison

@ivy! when i see plants, I think of you.

Indoor plants are huge. They're everywhere. They're in the bedroom, they're in the bathroom. But the kitchen is kind of the last frontier in this regard — I think maybe people are a little reluctant to put plants in the kitchen because the idea of having all that dirt so close to the place where they cook makes them a little uncomfortable. If you're in this camp, maybe you'll change your mind when you see these eight examples of how darned great it looks. You could grow herbs right in your kitchen! (And really, if you think about it, all of your food comes from dirt anyway.)
