At Long Last, It’s The Full Trailer For ‘The World’s End’

by Ashley Burns

The World’s End is the long-awaited final chapter in the strangely-titled Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy, and as the first official trailer revealed, this installment involves five childhood friends who reunite in their hometown to once again try to accomplish the famed “Golden Mile”. Basically, it’s a 12-pub crawl from one end of the town to the other, and it concludes at a pub conveniently called The World’s End.

Except this reunion goes awry when the townsfolk start acting suspicious, and by that I mean that they start shooting light out of every hole on their faces like they’re a bunch of British David Lo Pans. Yahoo! revealed the new, full trailer earlier today and it doesn’t really tell us much more than the first trailer did, but there is one very important difference between this one and the last – much more Rosamund Pike.

As always, one of my golden rules for Hollywood is “more Rosamund Pike”. Put her in your movie and I will see it. For example, Die Another Day was a horrible, horrible movie and I’d probably call it the worst James Bond movie ever made. But because it had Pike in it, I instead give that title to The World is Not Enough. After all, Rosamund Pike >>>>>>>>>> Denise Richards.

I apologize for implementing all of this science into a post about the trailer for what will most likely be an excellent film.

The Ghost Of Christopher Lloyd Saved Rays Reporter Kelly Nash From An Instagram Death

by Brandon Stroud

Kelly Nash

What you’re looking at is the best-possible and most serendipitous sports “selfie” you can take.

Meet Tampa Bay Rays reporter Kelly Nash. In addition to being pretty and having a great baseball job, she comes equipped with a magical forcefield that keeps her from getting drilled by fly balls when she’s taking Instagram pics at Fenway Park instead of paying attention. The photo hasn’t been doctored … in fact, representatives from the Rays speaking with Yahoo Sports seemed surprised at the idea that anyone WOULD doctor a photo like that, and I have to agree. I can’t get my phone to take a picture of anything more mobile than a bowl of fruit without it blurring up. This photo was a gift.

If you’re wondering what mystical force kept Kelly from getting brained, here’s a quick conversation from her Twitter this morning explaining why she and actor Tony Danza are so very much alike:

Angels in the Outfield

When asked for a comment, Joseph Gordon-Levitt just started staring at me and flapping his arms.

Nathan ‘For You’ Fielder Asks Twitter Followers To Play Hilarious Drug Dealing Prank On Their Parents

by Josh Kurp

We’re big fans of comedian Nathan Fielder ’round these parts. His Comedy Central show, Nathan for You, earned the coveted UPROXX FOUR-STAR STAMP OF APPROVAL (note: said stamp doesn’t actually exist, but if it did, the stars would be made of corgi heads), and he was great on Bob’s Burgers and Jon Benjamin Has a Van. Fielder also has a must-follow Twitter account, and yesterday, he came up with his best idea yet: “Experiment: text your parents ‘got 2 grams for $40′ then right after ‘Sorry ignore that txt. Not for you’ Then tweet pic of their response.”

The results were WTF YOU’RE GOING TO REHAB F*CK YOU BRIAN, I mean, wonderful.

Gotta love that Mama Bear.

One More Time For Boston From The New York Yankees Fans

by Ashley Burns

There are plenty of sports events to watch on TV tonight, from the Phillies-Reds game at 7PM ET on ESPN 2 to the Sabres at Bruins on NBC Sports at 7:30 PM ET to the incredibly intense Jazz and Lakers games, on ESPN at 8 PM and 10:30 PM respectively, which will decide the fate of both of those teams, as one of them will miss the playoffs. There’s also WWE Main Event on ION, in the event that I ever discover what channel that is on U-verse.

Chances are I’ll probably end up watching the Cardinals game in an exhausted daze on my couch, because the 24/7 cable news cycle is breaking me to pieces, and I don’t even watch that nonsense. But it finds a way to sneak up on you and get you in a mental chokehold, like carbon monoxide in a running car in the garage, except all in my brain. I’m not sure where I’m going with this, to be honest, but I’m tired and my head and heart hurt, that’s for sure. (I’ll be more fun tomorrow, I promise.)

But baseball made me pretty happy last night as teams and fans across the country paid tribute to the victims of Monday’s Boston Marathon bombing, and I’ll watch that New York Yankees video again, as the Bronx Bombers fans sang along with “Sweet Caroline” for one night. And I had some leftover photo tributes left over from my morning search, so I figured in lieu of the TV listings, we could honor New York’s finest baseball fans one more time.

I love these fan GIFs.

Behold The Glorious History Of Politicians Making Awkward Rap References

by Josh Kurp

The only time a middle-aged politician, especially a white middle-aged politician, should ever quote a rap lyric in public is if they begin with, “My name’s Sarah Palin and I’m here to say/I’ve come to hate gay marriage in a major way.” Other than that, it’s best for them to not mention 2Pac or Eminem or Snoopy Doggy Dre, or else they’ll end up on the next installment of this wonderful “Politicians Making Awkward Rap References” supercut.

What’s that, Barney Frank? I didn’t hear you. How should I wave my arms in the arm?
