LrbeverTen years ago yesterday, I was in that Indianapolis crowd to watch Eugene and William Regal win the tag titles. Billah was with me, it's his favorite moment in wrestling, lol.
27 years ago today, WWF holds a legends battle royal at the Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Other participants were Nick Bockwinkel, Art Thomas, Bobo Brazil, Jay Strongbow, Gino Brito, Arnold Skaaland, Eduardo Carpenter, Baron Scicluna, Al Costello, Pat O'Connor, The Crusher, Pedro Morales, Dominic DeNucci, Killer Kowalski, Tony Garea, Gene Kinski, and Rene Goulet.

16 years ago and a day ago today, WWF presented Survivor Series (WWE Network link) from the Kiel Center in St. Louis, Missouri. 19,322 were in attendance, with 478,000 homes watching on PPV. That's not only nearly double the 1997 edition (250,000 buys), it's more than the 1997 and 1996 editions combined (449,000 buys). Though there were no traditional Survivor Series bouts, this edition put a different spin on the survival aspect: survive and advance, as this show focused on a one-night tournament to crown a new WWF Champion, something that had not been done since Wrestlemania IV. The title was vacated back in September at Breakdown following a double pin on Steve Austin by The Undertaker and Kane. There was an attempt to fill the vacancy at Judgment Day, but the bout between Undertaker and Kane went to a no contest. The Undertaker and Kane were given first round byes, but would face each other in the quarterfinals, a la Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant back at Wrestlemania IV.

- Quarterfinals
- The Undertaker defeated Kane.
- Mankind defeated Al Snow.
- The Rock defeated Ken Shamrock.
- Sable defeated Jacqueline to win the WWF Womens Championship.

- Final
- The Rock defeated Mankind "by submission" to win the vacant WWF Championship. The win made The Rock the youngest WWF Champion in history. In an exact replication of the previous year's events, The Rock hooked Mankind in the Sharpshooter and Vince McMahon quickly called for the bell. It turned out that was an elaborate ruse concocted by The McMahons to get the championship on The Rock.

My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: Sunset Shimmer's Time to Shine Book Appears with a May 5th Release Date
LrbeverSunset book! yay
This one has popped up and gone down a few times these last few days, and the page for it seems a little bit on the buggy side. Over on Amazon, we have a new book slated for a May 5th 2015 release date titled "Sunset Shimmer's Time to Shine". The weird point though is the reviews, with 28 people supposedly already putting throw two cents in on it. It's looking like one of the older Equestria Girls books may have been accidentally replaced with this one, but kept it's reviews on the page.
Either way, we most likely have another book on the way next year starring Sunset here in the EG universe.
You can pre-order it over here.
Thanks to Reece for the heads up!

Now Obama is Doing Too Much to Stop Ebola
Lrbeverbackwards thinking at its finest
For weeks leading up to the election, all we heard from the right was that President Obama wasn’t doing enough to stop Ebola. After the election, they’ve suddenly decided that he’s trying to do too much to stop it and they’re demanding that Congress refuse to fund a bill that would help address the problem at its source.
Betsy McCaughey, the conservative columnist behind the “death panel” smear of Obamacare, derided the administration’s latest proposal, which she calls “Ebolacare,” to help build a stronger health care system in West African countries as “a typical Obama administration spread-the-wealth scheme kicked up a notch to redistribute American resources to poor countries.” Writing in her syndicated column yesterday, McCaughey lamented that the potential “shifting [of] resources to Africa” is “twice what we give Israel.”
McCaughey previously accused the Centers for Disease Control of “lying” about the ways people can contract Ebola and said Obama was putting American lives “at risk for the sake of political correctness.”
George Russell of Fox News writes today that conservatives fear “the crisis is being used to jam a massive dose of spending through the lame-duck Congress.” He interviews Dr. Tom Stossel of the American Enterprise Institute, who says that the plan to fight Ebola is just an excuse for “throwing money at various government agencies.”
Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly, who warned last month said Obama was “letting these diseased people into this country to infect our own people” in order to make the U.S. more like Africa, urged Republicans to resist bipartisanship and refuse to fund the proposed measures to fight Ebola.
It’s the same thing we’ve seen for six years now: If Obama is fer it, I’m agin it.
Possible Rainbow Reference Dash in Warlords of Draenor
LrbeverPony WoW references!
Something for all you wow nerds trucking away at it like me here. At the end of one of the quest lines in the new expansion, I (and several others of you if the submit box is any indication) ran into this drake with the name "Raindash". Blizzard's pony references have always been pretty subtle, with Pink Poeny (below) passing out sweets in the last expansion. While it could be a coincidence, considering this thing changes to all sorts of rainbowy colors, It's probably legit.
Heres to hoping more pony appears!
Now back to grinding this warrior up.
This kid probably didn't get an A, but he definitely should have.
LrbeverHope this kid isn't in college.
Dog comes up with a hilarious way to deal with his fear of going through doors.
Lrbevero wow
