American Airlines Opening Flights to Equestria After Permission from Princesses Passes
Lrbeverlol
It seems like just last week, we were bugging Jet Blue about ponies and giving them ridiculous cute mascots. American Airlines has hopped on, with a response over on Twitter. Apparently we can expect to see flights to Equestria open up, assuming Celestia and Luna approve it. Someone get a petition going? I want to go to ponyland.
Thanks to Black Day for the heads up!
(Note: Flights to Equestria aren't actually possible please don't send me emails or Trixie will melt you! MELT YOU!)

The Elkhart Tooth Stone – A Block of Concrete Filled with Human Teeth
The street corner at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Lexington Avenue, in Elkhart, Indiana, is home to an unusual memorial – a concrete block full of human teeth. While the teeth aren’t visible from afar, a closer look will reveal dozens of molars, canines and incisors sticking out from almost every crack and crevice.
The strange monument was created by local dentist Dr. Joseph Stamp, who practiced for 60 years in the area before he died in 1978. He had an interesting habit of saving every single tooth he extracted, preserving them in a barrel of chemicals in his basement.
At some point during those years, Dr. Stamp lost his dog – a German Shepherd named Prince. The incident left him heartbroken, and as a tribute to his loyal friend, the doctor created the concrete block embedded with thousands of teeth from his collection.
German City Sprays Walls with Hydrophobic Paint That Causes Public Urinators to Soak Themselves
Lrbeverlol that'll teach em
For several years, the residents of Hamburg party hub St Pauli have tolerated public urination by drunken partygoers. But now they’ve decided that it’s ‘peeback’ time. In an attempt to combat the problem, they’ve coated their buildings and streets with a special hydrophobic paint that bounces the urine on the urinators!
Local community group IG St Pauli came up with the brilliant idea after they realized that traditional signs and warnings just weren’t working. “Prohibitions and fines do scarcely anything,” a member of the group said. “So we decided to solve the problem our own way. Now, St Pauli pees back.”

'Year of the Unicorn' Declares Business News
LrbeverThe Year of the Rarity!
It looks like we're not the only ones excited about magical equines this year. In a news report from The Wall Street Journal and Fortune magazine unicorns are in and are expected to make huge gains this year as not only young girls, but young boys start to get into the craze.
The reason behind the surge? Friendship is Magic of course! Both articles cite our favorite little equines as being a major driving force into the surge of unicorn popularity. While last year was the year of the horse, this year is looking to be an even stronger year which can only mean good things for FiM! Even more importantly, it's great to see so many of the target demo, and young boys as well, getting into the show.
Check down below for links to the articles. The WSJ article is behind a pay wall so the link goes to Google where you can follow the link to the article there which circumvents the pay wall.
Thanks to Black Day for sending them in!

Bacon Pop Tarts

Homemade “pop tarts” are far and away much better than the cardboard-like toaster pastries you buy in the grocery store. We were inspired by this recipe for bacon jam pop tarts, but wanted to create a version with real candied bacon inside. We also added apple pie filling and covered them in a buttery, cinnamon glaze.
The result is a handheld dessert that is sweet and slightly savory. For a more savory dessert, you can skip candying the bacon and add cooked bacon slices instead. If you’d like to serve them with ice cream, you can skip the glazing and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the warm pop tarts. Delicious! The recipe for the apple pie filling is from Spendwithpennies.com.

Ingredients for the pastry:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1 large egg
2 Tbsp. milk
For the glaze:
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
For the candied bacon:
1 lb. bacon
1 cup brown sugar
For the pop tart filling:
4 medium apples
3 Tbsp. water
2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. water
Instructions:
1. Make the apple pie filling. Peel, core and slice apples. Melt butter and cinnamon over medium heat. Stir in apples, sugar and 3 Tbsp. water. Cover and cook stirring occasionally for 4-6 min. or until slightly softened.
2. In a small dish, combine cornstarch and 2 Tbsp. water. Add to pan while stirring and continue to cook until apples are soft (not mushy) and filling is thickened. Let bubble 1 minute. Allow to cool.
3. Make the pastry filling. Whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in the butter with your fingers until pea-sized lumps of butter are still visible, and the mixture holds together when you squeeze it. Whisk the egg and milk together in a small bowl and stir them into the dough, mixing just until everything is cohesive, kneading briefly on a well-floured surface (or in the bowl) if necessary.
4. Divide the dough in half, shape each half into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 min. or up to 2 days.
5. Candy the bacon. Coat each bacon strip in brown sugar and place strips on a rack on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 min. at 400° F, watching closely to avoid burning.
6. Remove dough from the fridge and let sit for 10-15 min. Roll each disc out into a 9” x 12” rectangle (or so) and cut the dough into 3” x 4” tarts. Place half the rectangles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Add two half-strips of candied bacon side by side in the middle of the pastry. Then add 1-2 tablespoons of apple pie filling over the bacon, keeping a ½” perimeter around the edges. Place a second rectangle of dough over the first, using your fingertips to press firmly around the pocket of filling, sealing the dough well on all sides. Press the tines of a fork all around the edge of the rectangle. Repeat with remaining tarts.
7. Prick the top of each tart multiple times with a fork. Refrigerate the tarts uncovered for 30 minutes, while you preheat your oven to 350°F. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until they’re a light golden brown. Cool on the pan for 5-10 min. before transferring to a wire rack to cool.
8. While the tarts are in the oven, mix all the ingredients for the glaze in a small bowl. Once the tarts have cooled, drizzle the tarts with the glaze. Store pop tarts in an air tight container in the fridge for up to a week, and reheat gently before serving.

Breaking News: Connor Michalek to Receive Inaugural “Warrior Award” at 2015 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony
LrbeverRemember how last year, we talked about the Warrior wanting an award for strong people? Well, they made one in his honor. The Warrior award and it was given to this amazing little boy who had brain cancer.
In honor of the late, great Ultimate Warrior the WWE is creating a special award – the Warrior Award – to be included as a part of the annual WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
“The Warrior Award will be given to someone who has exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance, and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of WWE Hall of Famer, The Ultimate Warrior.”
WWE.com has confirmed this award will be a part of each ceremony going forward.
The first recipient of the Warrior Award will be none other than Connor “The Crusher” Michalek. WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan and Dana Warrior will present the award to Connor’s father, Steve Michalek on March 28th at the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
“With the love of his family and WWE Superstars, as well as the tremendous care by Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Connor battled cancer like a true warrior for as long as he could, and his charisma made him a local celebrity in Pittsburgh. Catholic Bishop Says Being Gay is Like Having Down Syndrome: It’s Not What God Intended
LrbeverAssholes like these should keep talking, just so that they offend so many people that what they are saying is deemed crazy and no one should listen to it.
Here’s some unsolicited advice: If you don’t understand a topic, stop pretending to be an expert in it. So if you’re an unmarried virgin, your advice on sex and marriage ought to be taken with a huuuuuge grain of salt.
Irish Catholic Bishop Kevin Doran (below) didn’t take any of that advice. During an interview with the NewsTalk Breakfast radio show, his ignorance on a variety of subjects came through loud and clear.

Like when he said gay couples with kids weren’t really parents:
“This legislation that the government is introducing — the Children and Family Relationships Bill — seems primarily focused about making it possible for people in various different relationships to have children. It’s not about ensuring that children have their parents.”
…
“[Gay couples] may have children — but that’s the point — people who have children are not necessarily parents,” he said.
Shut up. Just shut up.
When he was asked about where homosexuality comes from — whether it was what God intended — Dr Doran replied: “That would be to suggest that if some people who are born with Down syndrome or Spina Bifida, that that was what God intended either.”
OMG, stop talking…
And Dr Doran said it is wrong for a woman to ‘get back’ at a rapist by having an abortion.

You know what? I take back everything I just said back.
Keep talking, Bishop. You’re doing more to show the problem of faith-based thinking than any argument I could ever make.
