Goo Hara's family proceeds with legal battle over her estate

by Unknown

Article: [Exclusive] "Does a mother who threw her kid away have any rights?" Goo Hara's family engages in legal battle over her inheritance

Source: Dispatch via Nate

1. [+943, -11] There were b*tches like her back with the Cheonan sinking too

2. [+857, -5] Sigh.. even in death, Goo Hara is suffering ㅠㅠ

3. [+797, -3] Don't let them have it!!!! Protect her estate.

4. [+72, -0] She's the one who threw her daughter away and now she wants her back for the money? Did she even look at Hara when she was struggling? You don't get to be a parent just because you gave birth to them. Hara oppa-nim, please don't let them take the estate no matter what.

5. [+70, -0] With Sulli and Hara, it just shows that there will always be parents who appear only after someone dies to take all the money for themselves. I really hope they get cursed for the rest of their lives.

6. [+61, -0] The fact that Hara left memos about missing her mother even in 2016, which was after her success, means that her mother does not deserve anything from her estate

7. [+59, -0] Goo Hara was raised by her grandparents from a young age, then went to Seoul by herself to pursue her dream of becoming a celebrity. Unbelievable that the parents are making it harder for her now by fighting over her estate. It's like they're undermining all of the training and effort Goo Hara put in to earn that money. The only person deserving of her estate is her older brother.

8. [+51, -1] I just want her oppa to take it all...

9. [+48, -0] Only a b*tch like her could throw her own daughter away... she deserves a thousand years of consequences

10. [+47, -0] You don't get to be a mom just because you gave birth to her

11. [+43, -0] Please don't kill Hara twice... you're going to end up in hell

12. [+36, -0] Any person with a heart would know that the oppa deserves it all... but obviously the mother has no heart, which is why she's going after the estate of a dead daughter she threw away. I feel so bad for Hara.

13. [+34, -0] Hara's memo about her mother is ripping at my heart. I pray that she's happy in heaven.

13. [+26, -0] How can she think to only find her daughter after she's dead to take the money she traded for her life? If you didn't raise her, at least have some shame, you useless being.

BTS graces the cover of 'Time for Kids' magazine

by Unknown

Article: [Official] BTS graces the cover of America's 'Time for Kids'

Source: Sports Chosun via Nate

1. [+375, -8] Idol group enhancing our national prestige

2. [+336, -9] Proud to be the country of BTS 💜!!!

3. [+292, -5] Hopefully they make the world shine by once again being the best artist in the world this year~ so cool!!

4. [+24, -1] Jin is too handsome, no? So proud of BTS~

5. [+24, -1] If a war were to break out in our country, which do you think would be more helpful? BTS being armed and kept waiting for battle or having them up on an international stage and saying "please help Korea"?

5. [+23, -2] Jin looks more handsome with his hair up like that ㅎㅎ proud of them

6. [+21, -1] Even as a man, I can say that they're handsome. They're fitting of world stars.

7. [+21, -0] So cool and proud!

8. [+16, -0] A positive influence to youth and teens 💜

9. [+13, -1] I think any country in the world wouldn't put BTS through army service and keep them around for other promotional uses. You fools, do you realize what would happen to BTS during the two years in service? They'd be sent to do stupid talent shows for two years and come out looking as aged as ever. Did you see what happened to GD's face after his service?... and then their popularity will drop, and they won't be able to recover their original position again.

10. [+11, -1] The army is such a stressful place which is why so many scandals erupt out of it. If any of the five get into even one scandal involving a woman, money, break, or agency, they'll be exiled by netizens and face difficulty in recovering. So many celebrities have had their careers cut short because of the army. I don't think it's in our best interest to have BTS serve.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott spark reconciliation rumours

by treenotree

Kylie Jenner and ex-boyfriend Travis Scott were spotted hanging out together at Disney World. The trip was reportedly a pre-birthday celebration for their daughter Stormi. They were joined by a slew of other friends and family members

- The couple broke up last fall after Travis was rumoured to be cheating, but reportedly share custody of Stormi
- In December, people thought Travis was shading Kylie when he posted a simple "lol" to his Instagram stories soon after Kylie posted a thirst trap on her Instagram.
- In January, they were spotted "flirting" in the Instagram comments on a different photo (they sent some emojis back and forth about Travis' cooking).
- Recently, Kylie used an unreleased track of Travis' in her cosmetics ad for The Stormi Collection.

Russell Simmons pressured Oprah to pull out of documentary about his accusers

by thereinventions

A follow-up to this post. Sit back because it's a MESS. And also, TRIGGER WARNING.

  • Russell Simmons pressured Oprah to pull the plug.

  • Simmons would tell Oprah, "Look what you're doing to my daughters." Oprah said she took offense that's she doing anything to his daughters.

  • “I told him directly in a phone call that I will not be pressured either into, or out of, backing this film. I am only going to do what I believe to be the right thing," Oprah reportedly told him.

  • Simmons and his supporters also targeted some of the women in the film, through social media and in one case, a family member.

  • Simmons taught his supporters how to challenge the credibility of women by asking “how many times they went to jail, to a mental institution, have they accused five or more people, what does their father say.”

  • Oprah said Simmons told her Drew Dixon, his accuser and who's the main focus of the documentary, is "lying about their interactions." Other people who she won't name called her saying they question Dixon's accounts, too.

  • "Ms. Winfrey said that she still believed Ms. Dixon, though she also thought there were inconsistencies in her account that the film had not adequately addressed, in addition to other issues she had with the film. (The filmmakers say they have voluminous research files corroborating all the women’s accounts.)"

  • Dixon says she feels abandoned after Oprah pulled out.

  • “I feel like I’m experiencing a second crime,” Ms. Dixon said. “I am being silenced. The broader community is being intimidated. The most powerful black woman in the world is being intimidated.”

  • Oprah was unsure about the film for a while. She sent the documentary to Ava DuVernay to get her critique of the film and advice. Ava gave a harsh critique which was included in the letter to the filmmakers.

  • Before pulling out, the filmmakers retooled the film at Oprah's requests, such as doing additional interviews with experts on misogyny in hip-hop. When they sent her the final version, she was still unhappy with it. Thus, she pulled out.

Oprah Winfrey Steps Away From Russell Simmons Accuser Doc, Pulls From Apple+ (Exclusive)

by saintclaire87

Oprah Winfrey is stepping away from a documentary that centered on a former music executive who has accused Russell Simmons of sexual misconduct.

The high profiled documentary is slated to at the Sundance Film Festival later this month. Winfrey, who previously was an executive producer, had planned to air the doc on Apple TV+ after the festival.

The untitled documentary will be directed and produced by Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering (The Invisible War). It will tell the story of Drew Dixon, a former music executive at Def Jam Recordings.

Dixon had been forced out of her job after experiencing prolonged and aggressive sexual harassment by Russell Simmons. Dixon reported that she left the company in 1995 after Simmons raped her in his apartment.

Part of her statement to The Hollywood Reporter:

“I have decided that I will no longer be executive producer on The Untitled Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering documentary and it will not air on Apple TV+. First and foremost, I want it to be known that I unequivocally believe and support the women. Their stories deserve to be told and heard. In my opinion, there is more work to be done on the film to illuminate the full scope of what the victims endured, and it has become clear that the filmmakers and I are not aligned in that creative vision."

Winfrey goes on to say that she considers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering as "talented filmmakers" and she has great respect for their mission. But she is leaving the project because she feels that the film is not ready to premiere at Sundance. Winfrey also said that she will be working with Time's Up "to support the victims and those impacted by abuse and sexual harassment.”

Time's Up president and CEO Tina Tchen released a statement to THR stating that she supports Oprah's decision and that she supports the women coming forward in the documentary.

Dick and Ziering released a statment to Deadline stating that they are disappointed that Oprah is leaving the documentary but they are grateful that she still supports the victims. They say that they are still going to release the documentary at Sundance.

Psy criticized for his concert's female dancers being too provocative

by Unknown

Article: Psy concert criticized by netizens for excessively provocative female dancers "is this really 2020?"

Source: Top Star News via Nate

1. [+803, -113] I'm a woman... and if you're going to find stuff like this problematic, how are you going to watch things like the Can Can in the Moulin Rouge? Every cultural production of mankind has included sexual elements in them. How can you live if you find all of them problematic?

2. [+618, -118] Surely the dancers are dressed like that because they like the performance? Why blame Psy?

3. [+589, -123] So when a man shows off his abs and does the wave, everyone goes "kyaaah~~~", but when a woman wears a bra on stage, everyone goes "ugh you perv~~~"... the hypocrisoy of Korean women.

4. [+53, -8] I checked out the clips on YouTube and the male dancers rip their clothes off in similar fashion to the female dancers too. Psy's concerts have always had a 19+ rating on them. We're not in the olden days, this is completely reasonable, and it's actually weaker than what Hyuna recently showed on stage. Not sure why people are questioning if this is "really 2020". I consider myself a feminist but I don't think this stage is worthy of debate... sex appeal can be exuded freely by man or woman, it's not a bad thing...

5. [+43, -4] This stage actually has both male and female dancers. The male dancers came out first and took their tops off along with a sexy dance before the female dancers came out after that. What's with the bait?

6. [+35, -5] Too many people finding everything problematic. It's like complaining about a nude scene in a movie or why a woman is wearing a bikini on Instagram, f*ck ㅋㅋㅋ

7. [+33, -6] It's his personal concert, what do you expect them to be wearing? Dancing in hanbok?? It's funny how feminists act all open-minded like America when it supports their argument and then they go backwards to the Chosun era on other issues like this.

8. [+30, -6] So women have no problem with male idols ripping their shirts off at their concerts? It's only a problem when women do it? It's not like these dancers are dancing in the nude asking for your money ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

9. [+26, -4] Psy's concerts have always been rated 19+, though...

10. [+20, -4] How far are we going to take this? This wasn't even a public broadcast concert, it was a personal concert... Please just leave people alone unless they're committing a crime.

New Mutants star swears the movie is coming in 2020

by polynucleotide

New Mutants star Charlie Heaton recently attended the For Love of Sci-fi convention in Manchester, England, and was asked about whether the movie is ever coming out. Charlie assured fans that yes, the movie is coming out in 2020. The film is stated for an April 3 release, but Charlie never mentioned that date, so for all we know it still might get delayed.

Filming for New Mutants wrapped in 2017 and was originally scheduled to be released April 13, 2018 before that date changed three times. Reshoots were supposed to happen this year, but never did, and its unknown if they'll actually even happen at this point.

Outside of its trailer and poster released two years ago, the film has gone untouched marketing-wise and is the only Disney/Fox property being released in the first half of 2020 that doesn't have a current marketing campaign.

What Quotes Do You Love?

by Caroline Donofrio

Michelle Obama dancing with Barack Obama

On Sunday evening, I was eating popcorn and scrolling around Instagram (as one does) when I stumbled across a quote…

Technically, it was a quote about a quote:

“When Oprah interviewed Michelle Obama, Oprah asked how Michelle got over feeling intimidated sitting at big tables filled with smart, powerful men and Michelle said, ‘You realize pretty quickly that a lot of them aren’t that smart.’ I think about that quote every single day.”

Boom.… Read more

ONTD Reading Challenge November: ONTD Doesn't Read

by milfordacademy

Well, well, WELL. It is the first of November and presumably some of y'all are nursing some Halloween hangovers. And I KNOW there's a fair bit of you that are a bit behind on the reading challenge (*cough*like OP*cough*). Surely the thought of another reading task can be a bit daunting at this time of the year. But fret NOT! This month's reading challenge should be something that any ONTDer can accomplish.

This November, let’s live up to the ONTD stereotype and not read. (Or at least, not a lot). This month’s task it to read a graphic novel, a book without any text or mostly consisting out of images. You can pick a children's book or an art/illustration/photography book, for example. And yes, you CAN just look at the pictures if you want.

Let's chill out and recharge our reading batteries, get caught up on the other months and get all ready for the December task so at the end of the year we can finally say (and mean it): WE DID IT!

Here are some suggestions of titles for this month. As usual, you can pick something else more to your taste if none of these appeal.

Cats (Walter Chandoha)

Fashion has Helmut Newton, architecture has Julius Shulman, and cat photography has Walter Chandoha. In 1949, his encounter with a stray kitten blossomed into a career that elevated feline portraiture to an art form. This is a tribute not just to these beguiling creatures but also to a remarkable photographer who passed away this year at the age of 98; and whose compassion can be felt in each and every frame.

Pokko and the Drum (Matthew Forsythe)

The biggest mistake Pokko’s parents ever made was giving her the drum. When Pokko takes the drum deep into the forest it is so quiet, so very quiet that Pokko decides to play. And before she knows it she is joined by a band of animals —first the raccoon, then the rabbit, then the wolf—and soon the entire forest is following her. Will Pokko hear her father’s voice when he calls her home? Pokko and the Drum is a story about art, persistence, and a family of frogs living in a mushroom.

East of the Sun and West of the Moon (Kay Nielsen)

This abridged edition of East of the Sun and West of the Moon revives a classic collection of 10 Norse folktales illustrated by the beloved Danish artist Kay Nielsen. Based on a precious first edition and including 11 of his extremely rare watercolor originals, the book features an all-new design refreshed for today's readers, numerous full-page illustrations, and double-spreads.

SuperMutant Magic Academy (Jillian Tamaki)

The SuperMutant Magic Academy is a prep school for mutants and witches, but their paranormal abilities take a backseat to everyday teen concerns. Science experiments go awry, bake sales are upstaged, and the new kid at school is a cat who will determine the course of human destiny. In one strip, lizard-headed Trixie frets about her nonexistent modeling career; in another, the immortal Everlasting Boy tries to escape this mortal coil to no avail. Throughout it all, closeted Marsha obsesses about her unrequited crush, the cat-eared Wendy. Whether the magic is mundane or miraculous, Tamaki’s jokes are precise and devastating.

Jane, the Fox, and Me (Fanny Britt, Isabelle Arsenault)

Hélène has been inexplicably ostracized by the girls who were once her friends. Her school life is full of whispers and lies. Her loving mother is too tired to be any help. Fortunately, Hélène has one consolation, Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre. Hélène identifies strongly with Jane’s tribulations, and when she is lost in the pages of this wonderful book, she is able to ignore her tormentors. But when Hélène is humiliated on a class trip in front of her entire grade, she needs more than a fictional character to allow her to see herself as a person deserving of laughter and friendship. Leaving the outcasts’ tent one night, Hélène encounters a fox, a beautiful creature with whom she shares a moment of connection. But when Suzanne Lipsky frightens the fox away, insisting that it must be rabid, Hélène’s despair becomes even more pronounced: now she believes that only a diseased and dangerous creature would ever voluntarily approach her. But then a new girl joins the outcasts’ circle, Géraldine, who does not even appear to notice that she is in danger of becoming an outcast herself. And before long Hélène realizes that the less time she spends worrying about what the other girls say is wrong with her, the more able she is to believe that there is nothing wrong at all.

Animalkind (Pablo Salvaje)

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that humans are not the only inhabitants of Earth. This visually striking book reminds us that not only do we share an ecosystem with other living things, but that we can also learn much from the behavior and instincts of our animal neighbors. In Pablo Salvaje’s handcrafted, softly colored prints readers encounter a wide range of creatures— from jellyfish and peacocks to polar bears and snakes. With chapters on love, survival, change, habitat, water, and other topics, this book takes readers on a journey across the planet to show how animals, like humans, form bonds, engage in rivalries, adapt their behavior to cope with challenges, and do anything to protect their offspring. A beautiful lesson in compassion, this book carries a universal message that readers young and old will appreciate and return to again and again.

Horror Cinema (Paul Duncan, Jurgen Muller)

Get ready to quake in fear with this revised and expanded edition of our history of horror cinema. From serial killers to satanists, The Shining to Scream, some 600 pages explore the genre’s favorite themes, mythologies, and motifs, and get up close and trembling to 50 top horror masterworks from the 1920s to the 2000s.

Abandoned: The Most Beautiful Forgotten Places from Around the World (Mathew Growcoot)

From the empty magical theatres of Detroit to the lost playgrounds of Chernobyl, there are places across the globe that were once a hub of activity, but are now abandoned and in decay. With nature creeping in and reclaiming these spots, we are left with eerie crumbling ruins and breath-taking views of deserted places, that offer us a window into past and capture our imagination. Abandoned showcases the very best photographs from around the world documenting this phenomenon.

The Iliad: Graphic novel adaptation (Homer / Gareth Hinds)

More than three thousand years ago, two armies faced each other in an epic battle that rewrote history and came to be known as the Trojan War. The Iliad, Homer's legendary account of this nine-year ordeal, is considered the greatest war story of all time and one of the most important works of Western literature. In this stunning graphic novel adaptation -- a thoroughly researched and artfully rendered masterwork -- renowned illustrator Gareth Hinds captures all the grim glory of Homer's epic. Dynamic illustrations take readers directly to the plains of Troy, into the battle itself, and lay bare the complex emotions of the men, women, and gods whose struggles fueled the war and determined its outcome.

Anne Frank's Diary: The Graphic Adaptation (Anne Frank / Ari Folman, David Polonsky)

The only graphic novelization of Anne Frank's diary that has been authorized by the Anne Frank Foundation and that uses text from the diary--it will introduce a new generation of young readers to this classic of Holocaust literature. This adaptation of Anne Frank's Diary of a Young Girl into a graphic version for a young readership, maintains the integrity and power of the original work. With stunning, expressive illustrations and ample direct quotation from the diary, this edition will expand the readership for this important and lasting work of history and literature.

X1's Son Dongpyo cozies up to Hyeri

by Unknown

Article: X1's Son Dongpyo, "I think Hyeri's personality matches mine"

Source: Newsen via Nate

1. [+796, -15] He's not even that cute looking but he tries way too hard to act cute, it made me change the channel

2. [+759, -49] He's as ugly as Lee Daehwi but acts too cute and seems just as arrogant as him as well

3. [+663, -13] Is he young and just hasn't gotten basic manners down yet or what? He's somewhere between acting too cute and acting too tough...

4. [+56, -2] He'd be getting less hate if he didn't try to act so cute and toned it down a bit... Song Hyungjun from his own team has that petite, cute image but he's respectful and keeps his manners so he doesn't have any antis

5. [+55, -2] He speaks quite arrogantly

6. [+54, -3] Where in the world did he learn those disgusting cute acts from? I thought I was going to throw up. One thing's for sure, I've memorized his face now.

7. [+53, -3] He seems soooo damn c*cky... I felt so uncomfortable every time I saw him on screen

8. [+42, -2] The fact that a kid like him was center at all just proves the show was rigged. I bet you 100% that he's on the list of rigged members. I don't even know where they found this loser and why he thinks he's fit to be an idol at all, tsk tsk.

9. [+40, -9] At least Lee Daehwi is good at composing and writing songs

10. [+37, -4] Seeing an ugly kid like him do aegyo makes me throw up...

11. [+30, -3] I want to smack him every time he tries to act up

12. [+28, -3] Son Dongpyo is the reason I hate X1 and change the channel. I don't just hate him, I feel like throwing up every time he acts cute. I wish someone around him would tell him to just stop. He doesn't look cute absolutely at all, and it's quite disgusting added on top of his c*cky personality.

13. [+26, -0] He looks like any middle schooler you'd see walking around on the streets

Lindsay Lohan uploads comeback song "Xanax" on IGTV

by diocharl

Lindsay is back! The Bossy singer uploaded her new song Xanax in full (?) on Instagram TV, accompanied by a video montage. It is not clear if the song will appear on streaming services anytime soon.

The song was written by Alma who co-wrote Miley's latest singles, Mother's Daughter and Slide Away.

Full lyrics

[Verse 1]
I don't like the parties in LA, I go home
In a bad mood, pass out, wake up alone
Just to do it all over again, oh
Looking for you

[Pre-Chorus]
Only one reason I came here
Too many people, I can't hear
Damn, I got here at 10
Now it's 4 AM

[Chorus]
I can't be in this club
It's too crowded and I'm fucked
Ain't nobody here for love
Ain't nobody care 'bout us
I got social anxiety, but you're like Xanax to me, yeah
Social anxiety, when you kiss me, I can't breathe
No, I can't be in this club
It's too crowded and I'm fucked
Ain't nobody here for love
Ain't nobody care 'bout us

[Post-Chorus]
But you're like Xanax to me
When you kiss me, I can't breathe

[Verse 2]
I try to stay away from you, but you get me high
Only person in this town that I like
Guess I can take one more trip for the night
Just for the night

[Pre-Chorus]
Only one reason I came here
Too many people, I can't hear
Damn, I got here at 10
Now it's 4 AM

[Chorus]
I can't be in this club
It's too crowded and I'm fucked
Ain't nobody here for love
Ain't nobody care 'bout us
I got social anxiety, but you're like Xanax to me, yeah
Social anxiety, when you kiss me, I can't breathe
No, I can't be in this club
It's too crowded and I'm fucked
Ain't nobody here for love
Ain't nobody care 'bout us

[Post-Chorus]
But you're like Xanax to me
When you kiss me, I can't breathe

Do you dig it?

Kangin leaves Super Junior, staying with SM

by Unknown

Article: Kangin, to remain in SM... Super Junior reps, "We respect his decision to voluntarily leave the group" -> continuing with webdrama

Source: Sports Chosun via Naver

1. [+870, -34] Woof woof woof, what about the other member with the dog?

2. [+309, -5] Let's all focus on our work, guys. Don't worry about celebrities, they've already made enough to live a comfortable life.

3. [+268, -8] Hmm... I don't know why SM is keeping him when he's left Super Junior ㅋ

4. [+266, -7] He's really sticking it out for a long time. Seems like he's been waiting for his timing to come back. Sigh, how shameless of him.

5. [+214, -28] Honestly, Super Junior is too old to be called juniors, they're ajusshis now

6. [+27, -3] From drunk driving to physical assault, isn't he also a member of Jung Jun Young's Katalk room??? Why is SM keeping him??? Does he have something on them???

7. [+17, -0] It's more shocking to me that he was promoting all along

8. [+15, -1] It's annoying that he's acting like he's leaving now out of consideration for the group when he's already harmed their image all this time. Kangin gets hate for a reason. Fans tried to defend him when he made his first mistake but even they turned on him when he went too far. He's rich enough to live comfortably on his own so don't worry about him. I have a feeling he's going to return as an Afreeca BJ soon ㅋㅋ Now the next members to kick out are Siwon and Sungmin.

9. [+11, -2] He needs to retire from the industry, not just the group

10. [+9, -0] It's because TV shows continue to allow a criminal back that they continue to commit these crimes... can't stand them...

-

Source: Nate

1. [+2,470, -17] Huuh? He never left the group before?

2. [+1,922, -17] Only now?

3. [+1,918, -20] He's freeloaded for way too long for his leave now to mean anything

4. [+82, -1] There must be a bigger scandal that he can't handle about to pop

5. [+82, -10] And Choi Siwon? What about the owner of the murderer dog?

6. [+60, -4] Siwon-ah, hold his hand and leave with him

7. [+49, -2] He's not in jail yet?

8. [+35, -1] Well that was sure fast

9. [+21, -1] ? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I thought he had already left

10. [+18, -1] Choi Siwon needs to leave too

Article: Harisu, "Kangin's SuJu leave makes me feel bitter"... criticizes fandom boycott against him

Source: Herald Pop via Nate

1. [+2,308, -31] Harisu-ssi, you said something quite dangerous... These fans have every right to criticize him because they were once his fans. That's how disappointed in him they are..

2. [+2,111, -32] She needs to know when to butt out

3. [+1,722, -31] So she thinks her personal friendship with him is more important than the feelings of a fandom that has been on his side for over 10 years?

4. [+108, -2] So she thinks a fan is obligated to accept and defend a celebrity's crimes no matter what?

5. [+103, -5] Hyung, this isn't it. Stay out of this.

6. [+84, -3] He's a criminal... how are his fans supposed to defend that...

7. [+75, -1] What is there to be bitter about??? He's a troublemaker who had to leave because he caused trouble. He should've left a while ago, actually.

8. [+41, -0] Hyung, are you dumb??

9. [+38, -1] I get that they're close but it's enough that Kangin has freeloaded for 14 years. He should've left the group a long time ago.

10. [+31, -0] Ah.. so I guess fans are obligated to stick with celebrities no matter how big of a mess they cause. Jung Jun Young fans, got it~?

Article: Harisu criticizes fans on Kangin's leave from Super Junior, "It's unfair to swallow if something's sweet, spit it out if it's bitter"

Source: Sports Chosun via Naver

1. [+1,514, -30] He's voluntarily leaving, it has nothing to do with what she's saying. He affected Super Junior with his actions. It doesn't matter how upset she is!

2. [+755, -5] Yeah but his bitterness was practically poisonous...

3. [+472, -5] What's so wrong about spitting something out if it tastes bitter? Why would you continue to swallow that?

4. [+193, -1] What is this load of crap... why should we defend him and continue to purchase his stuff when he's causing scandals? We're not his parents who are obligated to, we're just consumers.

5. [+76, -0] So she thinks he's a "kind junior" just because he greeted her a couple times? Does she realize how many scandals he's caused? Fans aren't saints, they're not obligated to continue their loyalty to him ㅋㅋㅋ

6. [+76, -0] Fans are not obligated to embrace a criminal

7. [+71, -5] Hyung, just staying quiet will get you so much further

8. [+49, -0] It's not that Kangin "suffered bad things", he "caused those bad things" ㅋㅋㅋ

Dancer and Choreographer Emma Portner accuses Justin Bieber of paying her below minimum wage

by illyrias_pet

Emma Portner, the wife of Ellen Page and a dancer/choreographer, blasted Justin Bieber on her instagram stories yesterday following his defense of his manager Scooter Braun. She said that when she was a dancer and choreographer for his Purpose World tour she was paid less than minimum wage, couldn't afford to eat, and had to sweep studio floors to be able to practice her craft. She also critcizes Bieber's involvement with Carl Lentz and Hillsong Church for being anti LGBT and asks him how it feels that a lesbian helped his tour for abysmal amounts of money when he attends a church that goes against her existence. She says that she hopes he educates himself beyond the bible and finds a world view beyond his straight white pastors and managers (Carl Lentz and Scooter Braun). She critcizes his continous association with problematic people (Carl Lentz/Hillsong, Scooter, Chris Brown) and says that men that exploit women like Justin Bieber and Chris Brown need to be held accountable.

Queen Rania of Jordan Issues Statement Defending Her Expensive Wardrobe

by just444

source

At the end of every year a royal fashion blog (http://ufonomore.com/) calculates the coast of royal wardrobes of the year

the 2018 one: http://ufonomore.com/blog/costs-2018

The tally used to include Queen Rania of Jordan but the Royal Hashemite Court pressured Ufonomore into taking her off.

The Palace also relased a statment on facebook:

The vast majority of Her Majesty’s clothes are either borrowed from fashion houses, offered as gifts, or bought at reduced preferential prices, while blogs rely solely on “market value” for clothes, creating a false impression of reality.

I’ve always had mixed feelings about New Year’s Resolutions. They’re fun to make, but two months in, I’m still biting my nails, dressing like a 10-year-old boy, and eating Trader Joe’s chocolate-covered almonds before bed.… Read more

Megan Fox On Why She Didn't Speak Out On #MeToo

by robertsbox_xo

Megan speaks to the New York Times about her new show, "Legends of the Lost," and also touches on the #MeToo movement and if the public/media owes her an apology for how she's been treated in the past.

Some choice quotes:
• "I don’t want to say this about myself, but let’s say that I was ahead of my time and so people weren’t able to understand. Instead, I was rejected because of qualities that are now being praised in other women coming forward. And because of my experience, I feel it’s likely that I will always be just out of the collective understanding. I don’t know if there will ever be a time where I’m considered normal or relatable or likeable."

• "Even with the #MeToo movement, and everyone coming out with stories — and one could assume that I probably have quite a few stories, and I do — I didn’t speak out for many reasons. I just didn’t think based on how I’d been received by people, and by feminists, that I would be a sympathetic victim. And I thought if ever there were a time where the world would agree that it’s appropriate to victim-shame someone, it would be when I come forward with my story."

3. [+136, -31] The shiniest gems in YG's jewel box

4. [+34, -6] It's been two years since debut and yet I doubt they have even 10 songs to perform...

6. [+22, -5] They barely have any songs released, how can they hold a concert? I bet they'll have more cover performances than their own songs.

7. [+20, -2] Half of the concert was videos, Seungri's commentary, and Black Pink's commentary

8. [+15, -1] They don't even have a full length album, what did they fill the time with?

9. [+6, -3] Please don't hold concerts unless your songs are 2NE1's first mini-album quality. You guys barely have any songs.

Heartbroken and afraid, Julia looks to the stars for some perspective. Taking her telescope down to the dock one night, she has a chance encounter with a guitar-playing boy who offers some helpful advice. Too bad this handsome stranger is the developer's son, Nick Constantine.

As plans for a resort move forward, Julia is desperate to find a solution that doesn't mean leaving the lake. Nick, in turn, is desperate to separate himself from his father's aggressive business tactics. He promises that, together, they can thwart the sale.

But can Julia trust him to conspire against his own father? And could she ever she trust him with her heart?

Tradition by Brendan Kiely
Available Format: Kindle; Print; Audio
Prestigious. Powerful. Privileged. This is Fullbrook Academy, an elite prep school where history looms in the leafy branches over its brick walkways. But some traditions upheld in its hallowed halls are profoundly dangerous.

Jules Devereux just wants to keep her head down, avoid distractions, and get into the right college, so she can leave Fullbrook and its old-boy social codes behind. She wants freedom, but ex-boyfriends and ex-best friends are determined to keep her in place.

Jamie Baxter feels like an imposter at Fullbrook, but the hockey scholarship that got him in has given him a chance to escape his past and fulfill the dreams of his parents and coaches, whose mantra rings in his ears: Don’t disappoint us.

When Jamie and Jules meet, they recognize in each other a similar instinct for survival, but at a school where girls in the student handbook are rated by their looks, athletes stack hockey pucks in dorm room windows like notches on a bedpost, and school-sponsored dances push first year girls out into the night with senior boys, the stakes for safe sex, real love, and true friendship couldn’t be higher.

As Jules and Jamie’s lives intertwine, and the pressures to play by the rules and remain silent about the school’s secrets intensify, they see Fullbrook for what it really is. That tradition, a word Fullbrook hides behind, can be ugly, even violent. Ultimately, Jules and Jamie are faced with the difficult question: can they stand together against classmates—and an institution—who believe they can do no wrong?

Trans Activist Ashlee Marie Preston Interviews Rose McGowan

After canceling all her public appearances after being confronted about not doing anything for trans people by Andi Dier (who, it was later revealed has been accused of sexually assaulting minors), McGowan, in an interview with Ashlee Marie Person, says that Dier was paid by Weinstein to verbally assault her.

McGowan explains why she canceled events after the confrontation: "I had to cancel all public appearances, because I thought that person could have had a gun. That person could have killed me. That person is a bad person. And that person is wrong."

She is also disheartened by being judged for her comments in the context of this experience and being called transphobic. "To be terrorized like that, and to have people flip out over word choices that I made when I was under assault is assaultive to me," she says.

McGowan also talks about her own upbringing in a cult. "I grew up without mirrors — largely, for the first 10 years of my life. I was not raised as a sex, or as a gender, or as a race. We were experiments. We were supposed to be just minds."
