As many of you know, the Princess Bride was originally a book by Simon Morgenstern, but only later achieved popularity when it was abridged by William Goldman. Well, guess what? We happen to have gotten our hands on a rare copy of the Morgenstern original. Here, check out this excerpt:

"My name..." Inigo Montoya paused for a moment. His name, his person-label, his tender identifier in these nether parts of a cruel universe called life as we know it. Is it no coincidence that name contains in it a "nay" sound, the courtly version of "no," as if to give away its own fallacious nature even as it seeks to identify? For what is a name, really but a stamp on a collection of molecules that is a man? And would you not say that a name doesn't so much identify a man as much as a man identifies a name? So that a man with a name like Buzz will turn Buzz into the name for a certain type of man. Yes, names are but nothing but syllables reaching for meaning.

"...is Inigo Montoya," but again Inigo paused. Inigo, such a strange name, a name that sounds like indigo, the i of ROYGBIV, a purple hue. Inigo had never identified with the color purple because he has no context in which to experience outside of the visual. For what does it feel to be indigo? Do you know your place in the spectrum are do you think that the world beyond blue ends as distinctively as it does beyond violet?

But wait, he had gotten ahead of himself. He still needed to consider the word "is." What is "is"? "Is" is to exist, but shouldn't existence be so definitive as to not require a word for itself? What does that say about our tenuous grasp on what is if we must say "is" to define it? Is life not enough on its own to convince us of reality? Are the events of our mortal timelines so nondescript that we require verbiage to define simply being?

And it goes on like that. Seriously, it's 5 pages before you even get to "Prepare to die." So, now you know!

I just can't believe it. I mean, doing this behind my back? Why, it's just so... COLD-BLOODED. Eh?

HOW TO BE A WINNER:

1. Avoid losing. If it appears you might lose, consider cheating.

2. If you cheat, do not get caught.

3. Watch television shows about winners. We have no examples to provide.

4. Attend movies starring winners. Again, we got nothin’.

5. Pay attention to sports. Sports is full of winners, because the selection process to be a sports athlete is very rigorous.

6. Don’t do drugs. A video game told us that. In 1988.

7. Get a winning outfit. We like a footed onesie.

8. Talk like a winner. Use words like “chillax” and “totes amaze” and “gablock.”

9. Buy things from the internet!

On any given Sunday you’re gonna win or you’re gonna lose.

Foul Play in Blood Bowl: Team Manager – The Card Game? You betcha!

Blood Bowl: Team Manager – The Card Game keeps scoring the goals with another expansion, so of course the EOG scribes have updated the rules summary and reference sheets to include it. Foul Play adds three more teams—the Lowdown Rats (goblins), the Zharr-Naggrund Ziggurats (chaos dwarfs), and Nurgle’s Rotters (abominations of Nurgle)—plus rules for penalties and stadiums.

Time for kick off!

David Skazaly is a Hungarian/German graphic designer who has been creating hypnotic, mind-warping GIFs since 2008. Working under the name Davidope, Skazaly’s psychedelic GIFs and warped images have set the standard for animated GIFs across the internet. Even if you haven’t heard his name before (or his online pseudonym, Davidope), you probably recognize some of Skazaly’s technicolor, organic forms, pulsing in infinite loops, whether on art blogs or the annals of Tumblr. Skazaly’s animations are strangely hypnotic and entrancing, pushing a format that is now primarily used for cat memes and celebrity reactions into successful, technically adept artistic territory.

Skazaly got his start experimenting with animation program Macromedia Flash in the 90s before focusing on his own motion graphics. Looking at his Tumblr now, it’s clear Skazaly has mastered the art form of creating technically perfect GIFs, from trippy, twisting shapes to black and white worms perpetually moving forward. Skazaly’s mind-bending GIFs are dizzying, satisfying works of art, elevating a now common internet trend to a mesmerizing new level.

Amazon's Kindle service is easily the leader in digital book sales, and today Amazon's taking it to the next level. The company has announced Kindle Unlimited, which offers access to hundreds of thousands of books, and thousands of audiobooks for $9.99 a month.

The books available via subscription doesn't seem to include everything in Amazon's library (much like the Instant Video selection which is only a small subset of the company's video library), but you can easily identify titles that are included by the "Kindle Unlimited" logo.
