Some Japanese Pokémon Go Players Have Bad Manners

by Brian Ashcraft
Dsider

I doesn't matter where you live, there are human garbage bags everywhere, who don't fear the consequences of their actions.

The stereotype is that Japan is clean. That Japanese people are clean. Many people are, but certainly not all, including some of the country’s Pokémon Go players.

Twitch Streamer Swatted While Playing Pokémon Go Outside

by Patricia Hernandez
Dsider

Now, while I think that streaming this game is a fucking stupid idea in the first place, and this guy sounds like the most naive dumbass ever, I wouldn't wish such a dickheaded practice upon him. Thankfully he came out of it safe.

Normally, parks are a great place to chill and capture lots of monsters within Pokémon Go. This particular excursion, however, ended with cops pointing guns at a Pokémon Go player instead.

I don't totally mind, I'm more upset that Jolteon's weak as shit apparently. Also, I'm shocked that I haven't seen a single Vaporeon named VapeNation yet.

Anywhere you go, you’re likely to see teams led by Vaporeons, gyms defended by Vaporeons, or people talking about Vaporeon.

Good, because candy is fucking stupid in this app. Oh wait, I don't even use this app anymore anyway. I think the guy was last dressed in a black TP-style Link costume, so it can't really get any better.

Nintendo Defends Art Style Of Controversial New Metroid Game

by Stephen Totilo
Dsider

You know what, I've already conceded that I'm never going to get the kind of Metroid game I want ever again. Do whatever the fuck you want.

The first nine minutes of a new video for the most hotly-debated Nintendo game in years shows what looks like a pretty fun four-player co-op shooter. The last five minutes are interesting in a different way, as they appear to be Nintendo’s best efforts yet to address criticism of the upcoming game, Metroid Prime: Federation Force.

Pokemon Go Helped Me Cope With My Social Anxiety

by Nathan Grayson
Dsider

Reading this article made me realize that this game basically gives me an extension of what I seem to go to conventions for, but didn't know the term for: ambient socializing. I much prefer being around others with whom I can share a basic understanding with at a glance, as opposed to going out and chatting it up with strangers. Thankfully, I haven't really been bothered by anyone outside of work, probably because I've been treating the whole thing like an advanced course in Keeping a Low Profile.

The first time I played Pokemon Go, I was terrified. Charmander appeared on my neighbor’s garage door, and as I approached, I could hear sounds coming from inside. Music. People chatting and laughing, socializing. Signs of life.
