МВД Украины не подтвердило факт гибели еще троих участников массовых беспорядков в Киеве, сообщает РИА Новости со ссылкой на пресс-службу ведомства.

В столичном управлении МВД Украины уточнили, что расследование ведется по факту гибели лишь двоих человек. Сообщения о еще трех погибших официального подтверждения не получили.

Ранее «Украинская правда» со ссылкой на координатора медицинской службы Штата национального сопротивления Олега Муссия сообщила, что за последние сутки в результате столкновений между милицией и демонстрантами в центре Киева погибли не менее пяти оппозиционных активистов.

Carvalho Araújo Architects bring us the De Lemos guesthouse in Passos do Silgueiros, Portugal. It is a private complement to a winery and restaurant, containing spaces for wine storage, analysis and critique. Contouring along the rocky landscape, the house snakes around the angular topography. Its flat rooftop behaves like a walkway for taking strolls or admiring the view. According to the architect, the design is inspired by the “beauty of the linear rhythm of the vineyards.”

The late German sculptor Hermann Rosa designed this atelier for himself. The building is an architectural manifestation of his art aesthetic, fusing a heavy industrial feel with an emphasis on organic nature. Rich greenery can be seen from all angles of the house, and the bathroom is separated from the main structure as if to resemble an old-school cabin or traditional outhouse. Its two floor-to-ceiling glass walls place the occupant directly in nature, partially concealed by invading tree branches.

Despite the industrial connotations of the atelier’s concrete, it too is kept “natural” with raw colors keeping the interior clean and simple. Stairs are stripped down to the bare minimum, with no railings or base connectors. The atelier is completely open and minimalistic, providing a space where one can truly free his artistic potential.

Back in 2007 when the world of collaborations were still fresh and relatively uncluttered, Comme des Garcons partnered up with Walt Disney to produce these Oswald (The Lucky Rabbit) Wallets. Number 3 released a small handful of them this week in a variety of classinc CDG sizes and styles in red, brown and cream. They’ve been specially marked down to $52 as well.  We wonder if any of these classics will make their way to their New York City sale next week.

Last week I posted about using small bits of tile for an understated and focused point of interest. Today, it's the total opposite. We're talking huge swaths of tile floors (and sometimes walls) that dominate with color and pattern. They're bold, beautiful and a firm hip check to anything else demanding attention.

Together they work to protect the rights of some of the poorest children in the world. They for example work in the cotton producing areas of Tamil Nadu India, one of the country’s largest cotton-producing states, and give children access to education. 25% of all sales from the All for Children collection will go directly to support Unicef’s projects

I made sure to order some products before they are sold out: the scarf, hat and the play house are on their way to our home!

As you know, next week we kick off the book signing tour for The Sartorialist: Closer, and we’re starting off the festivities with a little private party at Danziger Gallery in New York, generously underwritten by Coach. But it wouldn’t be a party without having one of you there. (Stay tuned for information on the public signing on September 7!)

 

So, today we’re starting a little contest. We’re posting three photographs that could make a great story. In 200 words or less, write a story in the comments inspired by the photograph. We’ll pick one winning story from among the three photographs and invite that person to the opening party.

 

The party will be the evening of September 5. Coach will provide a hotel room for the winner and a guest at the Hotel Americano, and a bag of their choosing from the Legacy collection.

 

We’ll announce the winner on Tuesday morning, and look forward to seeing you Wednesday night!
